Chapter 95 Please Move On

Lucian ignored Ursula completely, fixing his piercing gaze on Rosalie. He furrowed his brows, his words dripping with contempt. “Why are you hanging around with her again? She doesn’t have any manners, and all she does is rub off on you the wrong way.”

Ursula was fuming, ready to storm over and give Lucian a piece of her mind. But Rosalie held her back.

She met his gaze unyieldingly. “She’s my best friend, and nothing is ever going to change that.”

Lucian overheard Ursula telling Rosalie to break up with him. Since then, he had hated Ursula’s guts and had done everything he could to keep them apart.

After they tied the knot in her previous life, Rosalie slowly pulled away from Ursula to stay on Lucian’s good side. When she was willing to do whatever it took just to have his child, Ursula lost faith in her completely.

Ursula had also told Rosalie, “The Rosalie I knew died the day she married Lucian.”

When Ursula got married later, she didn’t send Rosalie an invite. That wound sat in her heart for seven long years.

When Rosalie got another chance in life, the first thing she did was put her complete trust in Ursula. Without a second thought, she jumped into a rushed marriage with the cousin Ursula had introduced.

All she wanted was to make up for the friendship she failed last time.

Seeing Rosalie defend Ursula like that, Lucian raised an eyebrow in disdain. “That explains all these little tricks you’ve picked up. It must be your best friend teaching you all that.”

Ursula couldn’t hold back anymore. She jabbed a finger in Lucian’s face and went off on him, “What the hell are you talking about? You’re more than just scum. You’re blind and brain-dead, too.

“Do you honestly believe the woman by your side is anything special? She always plays the pitiful act, but anyone can see right through her. Only a fool like you would be dumb enough to fall for it.”

Lucian’s face darkened instantly. He stared at Rosalie, his words sharp like daggers. “Look at your best friend. Didn’t you hear all the nasty things she said? I should have known you learned it from her.”

The “nasty thing” Lucian was talking about was Rosalie calling Camelia a slut right to his face. He even slapped her for it.

The memory made Rosalie’s chest tighten with shame and resentment. But she suddenly grinned. “She’s a real gem. I’m lucky to have her.”

She met his gaze and scoffed. “Ursie is right. When you’re blind and rotten inside, you see filth everywhere.

“Since you’ve written me off as manipulative, then stop wasting your time on me. From now on, just act like I’m invisible.”

After finishing her tirade, Rosalie took Ursula’s hand and spun on her heels to leave, but Lucian suddenly

grabbed her arm.

His hand clamped down on her wrist, his eyes burning with anger. “Cut the act! You knew damn well that Mr. Yarwood and I don’t get along, and you still tried to stir up drama between us. Just admit it. You hold a grudge because I called off the wedding and moved on with Camelia.”

His smugness was so infuriating that it was almost funny. “You think pretty highly of yourself, don’t you?”

His eyes landed on the shopping bag she was carrying. He snatched them away and yanked the clothes

out roughly.

He unfolded it and snickered. “That is my size, Rosalie. Are you still hung up on me?”

Rosalie froze for a second.

She used to shop here for Lucian all the time, and the staff here already knew his size by heart. She got so

used to it that she actually forgot to tell the salesperson to switch it to Julian’s size today.

Ursula turned to Rosalie with a puzzled look.

Without a word, Rosalie took the clothes out of Lucian’s hands and passed them straight to the

salesperson. “Excuse me. This isn’t the right size. I need it two sizes bigger.”

The salesperson looked baffled. “Isn’t this the size you usually get, Ms. Ashford?”

Ursula scolded, “What is wrong with you? Just get me the right size. I don’t have all day for this.”

She made sure to speak louder so everyone in the store could hear her. “My best friend is buying this for

her husband. Standing at six feet two inches, he had broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long legs.

“He’s way more of a catch than a certain someone who is only six feet one. Do you think he can fit into

that size?”
