Chapter 921 Let Him Down

1/2

Chapter 92 | Let Him Down

In a panic, Rosalie threw the covers off and looked down to check herself out.

Ursula giggled. “Relax. Someone set you up, but nothing happened. I’m the one who changed your clothes.

Rosalie still looked terribly guilty as she struggled to get the words out. “I really failed your cousin, Ursie.”

Even if she didn’t sleep with Charles, she remembered clearly that she kissed him. She had promised Julian she would never betray their relationship. Now, she had gone and done it.

Ursula snapped, “How is that your fault? It’s all because of that bastard who drugged you. The manager looked into it, and it was the intern who tried to make it big.

“He saw how pretty you are and got the wrong idea. Luckily, Mr. Yarwood was a gentleman and brought you straight home.”

Rosalie felt a twinge of doubt. Was the scene in the bathroom just a fever dream?

Ursula leaned in with a sly look. “That drug was supposed to be pretty potent. Are you sure nothing happened between you and Mr. Yarwood?”

Rosalie quickly waved her hand. “No. Nothing happened.”

Ursula raised an eyebrow, eyeing Rosalie suspiciously. “Why did you look like it was the end of the world?

Why the drama about betraying my cousin?”

Rosalie’s eyes darted away, avoiding Ursula’s gaze. “It was my fault for getting drugged. I came so close to betraying him. I really did let him down.”

Her head snapped up as she stared at Ursula. “You’re his cousin. Are you actually rooting for something to go down with Mr. Yarwood?”

Ursula grinned mischievously. “I’m just asking. Look at you. You’re all red. You look so guilty. Did you kiss

Mr. Yarwood?”

Rosalie raised her volume. “I didn’t.”

She immediately started pushing Ursula toward the door. “You need to leave. I’ve got things to do.”

Ursula kept cracking up. As she left, she glanced back with a playful wink. “Alright. By the way, Julian made you oatmeal. It’s still warm in the pot. Don’t forget to eat. Call me if you need anything.”

Rosalie replied, “Alright. I got it. Just go already.”

The door closed with a bang, and the world was finally quiet.

With her leg turning to jelly, Rosalie dropped onto the bed. She pulled the covers over her head, feeling completely mortified.

Chapter 92 | Let Him Down

2/2

Why was she so stupid to drink champagne from some random waiter? She even kissed another man. How was she supposed to face Julian?

Rosalie finally dragged herself out of bed when a wave of hunger hit her.

Waiting in the kitchen pot was her favorite oatmeal. She had just casually mentioned it to Julian while she was in the hospital, but he hadn’t forgotten.

The oats were soft, and the berries were sweet. She was eating it slowly, but stubborn tears started rolling

down anyway.

Honestly, Julian was a great guy. Rosalie couldn’t imagine what would happen if he found out that she kissed someone else behind his back.

That thought ruined her appetite completely. She set the bowl aside, grabbed her phone, and opened her chat with him. “I’m sorry about last night.”

She quickly deleted the message and typed again, “I’ll watch out next time. I won’t let this happen again.”

She blankly stared at the empty chat, but she couldn’t bring herself to send anything. Just then, the sound of knocking on the door broke the silence.

Her heart jumped to her throat. Thinking it was him coming back, she was startled and almost threw her

phone away.

Rosalie took a deep breath and put on a calm face to answer the door. To her surprise, it was Richard.

He could barely contain his excitement. “You’re the legend, Ms. Ashford. Harborview Center got back to me, and they’re willing to lease the whole office floor to us. The rent is a good deal, too.”

She was taken aback. That kiss from last night suddenly flooded her mind.

She subconsciously bit her lower lip and forced a smile that was worse than a frown. “How about we pick

another spot?”

Rosalie couldn’t shake the feeling that the only reason Charles changed his mind was because she had kind of flirted her way through it.
