Chapter 91 Courting Death with Charles
The door slammed shut behind Charles.
Lucian spat through gritted teeth, “If you lay a finger on Rosalie, I’m coming for you, Charles.”
There was no response from behind the door. Two bodyguards in black stepped up, forming a solid wall
in front of it.
Mason took his time straightening his cuffs. He offered Lucian a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, and his words had a biting edge. “You’re the first person who has the nerve to provoke Mr. Yarwood like this, Mr. Fenwick. You should go.”
Lucian leaned against the wall, his gloomy eyes fixed on the closed door before him.
A gnawing doubt began to grow in his mind. Was Rosalie really in there?
Charles was a control freak with an insane obsession with cleanliness. There was no way he would hide a
woman in his private suite.
But every instinct Lucian had was screaming at him that Rosalie was behind that door. Was he imagining
things?
But Charles wasn’t someone to be trifled with. In Lucian’s past life, he didn’t return to take over the Yarwood family business, but he still turned out to be Lucian’s toughest rival.
He was like a closed book, and no one knew what he was after. That was what made him dangerous.
If Rosalie had any sense at all, she would stay away from a man like Charles. But she didn’t come to Lucian for help and ran straight to Charles just to piss Lucian off.
Lucian was so furious that he wanted to pry Rosalie’s head open and see what was going through her
mind.
Camelia hurried over. “What’s wrong, Lucian?”
Lucian dropped his hand from his chest, his voice gruff and clipped. “I’m fine.”
He stared right at her and inquired, “Did you find Rosalie?”
Camelia’s eyes dimmed, and she shook her head in defeat. “No luck. But I saw Mrs. Ashford heading back
already. She didn’t seem worried about Rosalie at all.”
She continued, “Rosalie is probably fine. What if she is just hiding from us?”
Lucian’s face darkened even more. “I’ve been out there searching for her, and she’s been avoiding me the whole time. Now, she’s got me arguing with Charles.”
With this second chance in life, Rosalie had really leveled up her game. She tried to use Charles to bring him down. Worst of all, she stopped at nothing to split him and Camelia apart.

Lucian threw an arm around Camelia’s shoulder, leaning heavily on her. “Come on. Let’s get you home.
She grabbed hold of him, her face tight with worry. “Are you hurt anywhere, Lucian? Do we need to get you to a hospital?”
He replied, “I’m fine.”
Lucian never expected someone as refined as Charles to pack such a punch.
Rosalie was actually dumb enough to use Charles. If he were to find out about it, his temper was so unpredictable that he would slap the life right out of her.
Lucian had to warn Rosalie. Messing with Charles was like playing with fire.
Rosalie woke up around noon the next day. She smacked her dry lips, and a glass of water was immediately offered to her.
She heard Ursula’s anxious voice next to her ear. “You’re awake, Rosa. Are you thirsty? Have some water
first.”
Rosalie opened her eyes and drank deeply from the cup held to her lips. Her muddled thoughts finally began to clear, and disjointed memories came flashing back.
She remembered breaking things down for Charles. The next thing she knew, she was feeling lightheaded, flushed, and feverish. Then, she fell forward and kissed him.
She bolted upright in shock. Besides kissing, she had blurry memories of being splashed with cold water. She even grabbed his sleeves, begging him to help her.
