Chapter 82 The Bracelet

Chapter 82 The Bracelet

With his brows knitted, Julian swiftly glanced at his back.

Rosalie started to panic. “Turn around and let me see.”

But he acted as if he hadn’t heard her, pushing the wet wipe into her hand. He added, “Use that to clean

your hands. Stay in bed. I’ll go change the dressing myself.”

With that, he turned and walked out. His black T-shirt gave nothing away. She wouldn’t have known the

wound under it had torn open if not for what had just happened.

Rosalie felt a pang in her heart. She thought about how he used his body to protect her from the falling debris. She could still hear his low grunt of pain.

That must have been when he got hurt. But he never said a word and played it off like everything was fine, even though he carried her in his arms many times.

Rosalie gritted her teeth in frustration. How could he just ignore his injury?

The hospital room door suddenly swung open from the outside. Thinking it must be Julian coming back, she looked over nervously and said without thinking, “That was fast. Did they bandage you already?”

The words still hung in the air when she saw who was in the doorway. Her face fell, as it was the two

people she wanted to see the least.

Lucian walked in with Camelia on his arm and a fruit basket in his hand. He looked around the room.

Who are you talking to?”

п

Seeing that Rosalie was alone, he frowned. “Where’s the person who’s supposed to be looking after you? It’s so irresponsible to leave you alone like this.”

His tone made it sound like he was still the husband who had the right to criticize her.

Rosalie’s expression hardened, her words sharp like daggers. “I don’t need you pretending to care.”

Camelia hurriedly walked up to Rosalie and softly asked, “Are you feeling better, Rosalie?”

She waved the thermos in her hands. “Lucian mentioned that you’re a fan of chicken broth. I whipped up a herbed chicken broth for you. It’ll help you get better. You should try it.”

With that, Camelia unscrewed the lid and started pouring it into a bowl. Meanwhile, Rosalie’s face turned

to stone.

In her previous life, she loved chicken broth. The maids at the villa would prepare it often. After spending a night with Lucian, she would always find some ready for her.

Back then, she was silly enough to be touched, thinking Lucian cared about her. But it was the broth that destroyed her chance to be a mother.

Just the thought of it made her sick. She wished she could delete the memory in her head.

Camelie handed Rosalie the small bowl. A chilling glint flickered in Rosalie’s eyes as she raised her hand

and knocked the bowl away.

The hot broth splashed onto Camelia’s wrist. She cried out in pain, but her first reaction was to anxiously shout, “My bracelet!”

Lucian hurried over and pulled Camelia into his arms. “Have you lost your mind, Rosalie?”

He quickly led her into the bathroom, murmuring gently, “Did it burn you? Does it hurt? Let me take a look.”

Her sweet, pitiful voice came from the bathroom, “It’s not too bad. I just feel bad about the diamond

bracelet you got me.

His voice was unbelievably gentle. “Take it off. I’ll have someone clean it.”

Rosalie lowered her gaze and saw that her palm was also covered in hot broth. Thankfully, Julian had

given her some wet wipes, and she slowly wiped her fingers clean.

When Lucien and Camelia came out of the bedroom, she was back to acting all sweet and caring. She

turned to Rosalie. “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me. I’m just sad about the bracelet he gave me.”

Lucian glared at Rosalie with a grim expression, his tone tinged with fury. “Is this really how you react

when I’m nice to Melia? It’s just a bracelet. Was that really necessary?”

Rosalie sported a wry smile. She raised her hand and pointed toward the door. “Get lost! Don’t show your

face in front of me again. The sight of you two makes me sick.”

Lucian raised an eyebrow. Just as he was about to lose it, Camelia suddenly gasped in surprise.

Camelia’s attention snapped to Rosalie’s wrist. Her eyes widened in disbelief as the pink crystals of

Rosalie’s bracelet glistened like starlight. “Why do you have this bracelet, Rosalie?”
