Chapter 80 Here to See Rosalie

1/2

Chapter 80 Here to See Rosalie

A delivery guy leaned in with a fancy takeout bag. “I’m looking for Ms. Ashford. Mr. Fenwick had ordered cioppino from Bayview Table.”

Rosalie knitted her brows together and said dismissively, “Just toss it.”

The delivery guy looked troubled. “Cioppino is quite expensive, Ms. Ashford. It would be such a shame to

throw it away.”

Rosalie scoffed to herself. Even if it cost a fortune, there was seafood in it. With her burns still healing, it was the last thing she should be eating.

Was Lucian just clueless? Or was that intentional?

She looked up and told the delivery guy, “You can have it. Don’t ever deliver here again.”

The delivery guy had barely left when there was another knock at the door. Thinking it was the same

delivery guy, Rosalie impatiently looked at the door. “Didn’t I already tell you-”

She was cut off mid-sentence by some young man from the other side of the door. “Can we come in,

Captain Yarwood? We’re here to see Rosalie.”

Rosalie was dumbfounded as Julian got up and opened the door. A group of burly men poured in, and

they were all wearing their casual clothes.

They all had their hands full with milk, fruit, and health supplements, filling the modest room until there

was hardly any space left.

The young man leading the group had a buzzcut. He rushed up to Rosalie and clasped his hands together.

I’m so sorry, Rosalie. That was me on the phone yesterday. I had no idea it was actually you.

“We’ve been getting so many spam calls at the station lately that I thought it was a prank. I feel terrible for hanging up on you, Rosalie. Please forgive me.”

Carl pushed the milk and health supplements toward her, his voice loud and earnest. “It’s not much, but I would be honored if you would accept it.”

Rosalie didn’t have a chance to respond before everyone else surged forward. One of them added, “I’ve also got something for you, Rosalie.”

The next person chimed in, “These are fresh eggs from my mom. She says they’ll fix you right up.”

Another person piped up. “This fruit is the freshest you’ll find. I went to the orchard and harvested them for you, Rosalie.”

Just then, a young man with striking eyebrows and a buzzcut pushed through the crowd, jumped to the front, and started introducing himself, “Hello, Rosalie. I’m Crispin Payne. Captain Yarwood and I are like

brothers.

Chapter 88 Here to See Rosalin

“If you can’t reach Captain Yarwood, please feel free to contact me. Seriously, whatever you need, I’ve got your back.”

Rosalie was completely bewildered. Everyone lined up like eager puppies, waiting for their turn.

Her face flushed red as she tried to get up. “You really didn’t have to do all this.”

She felt a warm, firm hand on her shoulder, holding her in place.

Julian turned to the visitors, his voice low and firm. “Rosalie needs her rest. Leave the stuff and get out.”

Rosalie quickly added, “Thank you, everyone. The next round is on me when I’m back on my feet.”

One of them in the group called out, “Sure thing, Rosalie.”

Another person added, “See you, Rosalie.”

The group left almost as fast as they had arrived, pouring out with a racket.

Rosalie eyed the pile of gifts taking over the room in dismay. “H-How am I supposed to finish all this?”

Julian’s husky voice was teasing when he said, “You honestly need to build your strength back up. You’ve

gotten too thin.”

After lunch, Rosalie leaned back against the headboard, catching up on her work emails.

Without a word, Julian peeled and cut a plate of fruit for her and put it on her bedside table. Then, he

opened his laptop and got to work, too.

Rosalie occasionally looked up to see him focused intently on the screen, his fingers flying across the

keyboard.

Her curiosity was piqued. Since when did firefighters have so much desk work on top of emergency

response?

In the afternoon, a nurse set up her IV drip. With nothing better to do, Rosalie turned on the TV and

switched over to business news.

A bold headline instantly grabbed her attention. “Yarwood Group Faces Succession Crisis With Charles Absent From Board Meeting Amid Internal Strife.”
