Chapter 73 I Will Get You Out
The fire truck screeched to a halt in front of the office building.
The door sprang open, and a tall, imposing figure leaped off, charging headfirst toward the billowing smoke at the entrance without waiting for the fire truck to fully stop.
Behind him, several firefighters unrolled thick hoses, rushing to catch up while shouting urgently, “Captain Yarwood! Don’t be reckless! Get the scout robot in there first!”
But Julian had already vanished into the black smoke.
The remaining firefighters sprang into action. Some quickly set up barricade tape to clear the crowd. Others efficiently laid out fire hoses and charged into the blaze with water cannons.
Several firefighters rushed forward with specialized equipment, breaking through the outer wall to vent
the smoke, while others quickly set up portable smoke extractors.
The entire rescue scene was tense and professional yet methodical.
Everyone outside the barricade tape held their breath, intimidated by the sheer force of the operation.
Lucian stood among the crowd, and even though he had seen firefighters in action before, he couldn’t
help but be shaken by the scene.
Snapping back to reality, he grabbed a panicked employee who had just escaped. “Where’s Ms. Ashford?”
he demanded.
The employee, still in shock, shook his head blankly. “I… I don’t know. I didn’t see her.”
At that moment, Richard was frantically searching through the crowd, calling out repeatedly, “Ms.
Ashford! Where are you?”
After checking on every single person who had escaped and still not seeing that familiar figure, Richard
broke down and burst into tears.
He rushed to the barricade tape, screaming hoarsely at the firefighters inside, “Our boss! Ms. Ashford is
still inside! She’s on the third floor!
“Please, you have to save her! Please!”
Lucien’s face went pale at Richard’s cries. “Rosalie!”
He went wild, trying to rush past the barricade tape.
“Lucian!” Camelia grabbed his arm tightly. “Stay calm! The firefighters are already inside. They’re professionals! Rosalie will be fine!”
He froze, his eyes bloodshot, staring at the roaring flames consuming the building. His voice broke with desperation as he shouted at one of the firefighters, “Go save her! The third floor! Rosalie is up there! If

you bring her out alive, I’ll sponsor your department with a fire truck. No-two fire trucks!”

Meanwhile, inside the searing office, Rosalie felt as if her lungs were on fire. Every breath was sharp and
scalding.
Her phone had long slipped from her powerless grip, yet the voice on the line remained strangely clear.” Rosalie, hold on!
“Cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel. If there isn’t one, use your clothes. Stay low to the ground
and don’t move.”
She tried to follow the instructions, but the smoke had already filled her lungs, leaving her body heavy as
lead.
Even lifting a single finger felt impossible. Her arms fell limp at her sides.
Her eyelids grew heavier with every passing second. The smoke and flames twisted her vision, blurring everything into distorted shadows.
In the final moment before her vision gave out completely, she saw the reinforced glass door of her office explode open with a deafening crash. A tall figure in orange stormed through, shards scattering in every
direction.
The blaze of color cut through the firelight, reaching her in an instant and pressing a respirator firmly over
her face.
Cool, clean air flooded her lungs, and she breathed it in desperately as her fading consciousness clawed
back from the brink.
She heard a voice, distant yet clear, low and strained, but carrying a weight of safety that pierced through the chaos. “Don’t be afraid. I’ll get you out.”
The next moment, she was lifted off the ground, cradled in strong arms. She fell against a broad chest, solid and searing hot, yet it felt like the safest place in the world.
All around them, flames crackled and snapped as pieces of ceiling and debris crashed to the ground. Yet the man carrying her was always one step ahead, wrapping her protectively in his arms and using his upper body to shield her from every burning fragment.
Suddenly, with a burst of sparks, a huge metal ventilation duct broke free above them and came crashing
down
“Watch out!” Rosalie heard someone shout from outside.
