Chapter 60 Her Husband
“Rosalie, you went and married some random guy just for a few shares? You disappoint me!” William roared. He glared at Rosalie, his face twisting with anger.
He threw the marriage certificate onto the table and declared, “This marriage doesn’t exist as far as I’m concerned. Any daughter of mine must marry with dignity and honor.”
With that, he cut the meeting short and stormed out of the conference room.
The lawyers were left stunned. One of them bent to pick up the marriage certificate and handed it back to
Rosalie with a helpless look.
“Ms. Ashford, Mr. Ashford refuses to sign the shares transfer agreement,” he said. It was obvious that William was being willfully unreasonable.
Rosalie had expected William’s opposition, but she never expected him to humiliate her in front of so many board members.
A few of the elderly board members came to her side. Alfred, the oldest among them, placed a hand on her shoulder. “My dear, please don’t take this to heart. Your father is capable, but he isn’t generous. A single will isn’t enough to make him give up control.”
Another director added, “Yes, your grandfather valued his execution. But what Stellar Group needs is a
vision, not just action.”
“Don’t waste your energy fighting him head-on. What you need now is results, so use your achievements to prove that to everyone. Prove that under your leadership, Stellar Group can shine brighter than it ever did in his hands. When that day comes, he won’t be able to deny you even if he wants to.”
Rosalie remained speechless after hearing all that.
Meanwhile, outside the conference room, Camelia had been waiting in the hallway. She thought Rosalie would step out after taking Lucian’s call, but no one came,
When the meeting finally ended, she saw William storm out, wearing a thunderous expression on his face. Curious, she stopped a staff member and asked, “Excuse me. What happened inside? Why did the
chairman look so furious?”
Still looking shocked, the staff member answered with a lowered voice, “Ms. Ashford rushed into a marriage just to reclaim 40% of the shares. The chairman was livid.”
Camelia stared in disbelief. “What did you just say?”
Back inside, Rosalie took in the advice of several elderly board members. Gradually, the anger within her

subsided.

She had been too naive to think that she could overthrow someone as seasoned as William with a will. Composing herself, she nodded politely to them and left.
The moment she returned to her office, Steven called. “Ms. Ashford, Mr. Ashford stated that Firmament
System won’t be scrapped and will continue operations. That said, Skyvault System is also getting
greenlit for immediate launch. We have six months, and whichever system performs better will stay.
“It’s just-
“It’s just what?” Rosalie calmly asked.
“Well… the funding approved by the president’s office heavily favors Skyvault System. We have nothing left for marketing.”
Her eyes darkened. “And what about Skyvault System?”
“Its funding is several times ours,” Steven said, sounding helpless. “It’s obvious Mr. Ashford is determined to back Skyvault System. At this rate, Firmament System will be swallowed up and inevitably shut down. within half a year.”
“We still have six months,” Rosalie replied. “And Firmament System is far from weak. The world is never
short of discerning eyes.”
She ended the call, only for her phone to buzz again. The screen lit up with Lucian’s name.
Her lips curled into a bitter smile. There was no doubt he wanted to gloat over her misfortune, since she
had such an unreasonable and biased father.
Rosalie declined the call and buried herself in the bidding proposal, but she never expected him to come
in person.
That afternoon, not long after work resumed, her office door was swung open. Lucian stormed in, bringing
a chill with him.
His handsome face was taut with disbelief and suppressed anger. In a few strides, he was in front of her
desk
Then, he planted his hands on the edge and stared straight into her eyes. “Rosalie, who the hell did you marry?”
