Chapter 55 Post Visible Only to You

Rosalie’s heart sank. Could Vanessa’s death really be connected to Abigail?

She forced a casual smile and said, “It’s nothing, Mom. I just suddenly thought of something and got

curious. I remember you and Ms. Bourbon were very close, but even since her accident, I couldn’t reach

you no matter how hard I tried.”

When Rosalie saw Abigail’s expression grow even more tense, she softened her voice and tried to

reassure her. “I’m only asking out of curiosity. It’s been so long, it doesn’t matter anymore.”

But Abigail seemed to have made up her mind. She took a deep breath and said, “I went to see someone

that day, and I didn’t bring my phone.”

At that, Rosalie arched an eyebrow.

“Rosa,” Abigail continued, her voice trembling, “I can’t tell you who it was. I didn’t bring my phone because

because I didn’t want William to know.”

A figure instantly flashed through Rosalie’s mind. In her previous life, after the private jet carrying her

parents had crashed, a middle-aged man she had never seen before led a group of people deep into the

mountains.

Like a madman, he dug through the frozen earth with his bare hands. He called Abigail’s name until his

voice was hoarse and his fingers bled, collapsing only when he had no strength left.

Then he was carried away, and Rosalie never saw him again.

“On that day, it was Vanessa who picked me up from the Ashford residence,” Abigail said, her eyes

brimming with tears. “I never imagined that would be the last time I saw her. If I had known she’d get into

that accident, I never would have agreed to see that man, no matter what.

At that moment, everything made sense to Rosalie.

Vanessa’s car accident was purely an accident. It had nothing to do with Abigail, so why had Lucian

pinned the blame on their family?

Back in her room, she opened her chat window with him. Her fingers typed and deleted messages repeatedly.

“That year’s accident was just that-an accident. Your mother’s death had nothing to do with mine.”

But then, Rosalie caught herself. What was the point of explaining now? Wouldn’t it only make her look like she couldn’t let go?

With a cold expression, she deleted the messages entirely. Then, she began scrolling through her social feed irritably.

Her thumb froze. A new post appeared-it was from Julian.

The photo was a bowl of soggy mac and cheese, with the caption. “Having this for dinner.”

Rosalie blinked in disbelief. Seriously?

She was so annoyed that she called Ursula to complain. “Ursie, is your cousin out of his mind?”

Hearing that, Ursula sounded completely lost. “Huh?” she muttered in response.

Rolling her eyes at the screen, Rosalie said, “I went back to my mom’s tonight, so I didn’t have time to cook for him. He could’ve just ordered takeout, but no, he had to post a picture of mac and cheese. Isn’t that just his way of throwing shade at me?”

Ursula was so shocked that her voice jumped an octave. “Julian posted a passive-aggressive complaint about you? That’s impossible. His account is drier than the desert. He couldn’t even be bothered to share

ads!”

But then, after a pause, Ursula sounded confused. “Wait… When exactly did he post this? I didn’t see it.”

Rosale tapped on Julian’s profile, ready to take a screenshot as proof. But when she opened it, she froze.

His feed was spotless, like a blank page. There was no three-day limit set, yet only one lonely post appeared, the one with the mac and cheese photo.

She snapped a screenshot and sent it to Ursula. “He posted it at 6:30 pm. See?”

There was silence on the other end for half a minute before Ursula burst out laughing. She laughed so hard that it shook through the phone.

“Hahaha… Rosa, Julian set his post to ‘visible only to you’! You should just give in and cheer him up. Maybe you could send him some takeout or something.”

Rosalie snorted in response. “Why should I? If he loves instant noodles so much, then he’ll get instant noodles. It’s none of my business.”

Besides, it was already close to 11:00 pm. Julian was probably asleep anyway.
