Chapter 34 We’ve Never Crossed the LineÂ
Rosalie chuckled when she heard what Lucian said. She slowly repeated what she said to him earlier, “Mr. Fenwick, are we close? Why should I tell you where I’m going?”Â
Lucian’s eyebrows knitted tightly, his tone laced with a poorly concealed frustration. “You’re basically my sister!”Â
Rosalie burst out laughing as if she had just heard the funniest joke in her life.Â
“That’s hilarious, coming from you. What do you mean by sister? We used to sleep together!”Â
Lucian’s eyes immediately narrowed. Camelia walked over, covering her mouth with both hands, tears welling up in her eyes almost instantly.Â
“Lucian, h-have you two slept together?” Her voice was trembling as she spoke. “Didn’t you say that you never…”Â
Lucian immediately turned around and explained to Camelia, “Don’t listen to her nonsense!”Â
Then, he spun around and faced Rosalie. “You’d better make it crystal clear. Have we ever slept together?”Â
Rosalie’s heart sank when she saw how anxious Lucian was to clear his name.Â
Indeed, they had never gone to bed together in this life. The furthest they had gone was kissing.Â
After all, she wasn’t willing to give her virginity to someone she hadn’t married. Being the perfect gentleman, he chose to respect her and never forced her to do it.Â
In the past life, Lucian would also gently ask for Rosalie’s permission before doing it with her, even after they were married.Â
“Don’t worry,” Rosalie said to Camelia. “He’s a virgin, and we’ve never done anything that crossed the line.”Â
Lucian visibly let out a breath of relief. Turning to face Camelia, he softened his tone and said, “I would never lie to you.”Â
She immediately smiled and looked at him with longing in her eyes. “Of course, I’ll believe you.”Â
Then, Camelia looked at Rosalie, putting on an understanding expression again.Â
“Rosalie, don’t overthink it. I’m not bothered by what happened between you and Lucian. It’s just that I care about him too much.”Â
“Whatever.” Rosalie had completely run out of patience. “Can you two leave now? You’re blocking my light.Â
At some point, a flight magazine was spread open across her knees. With Lucian and Camelia standing there, the light from the overhead lamp was blocked out.Â

His expression turned dark once more. He took Camelia by the wrist and sat next to Rosalie.Â
Camelia suddenly said, “Lucian, I’m feeling a little thirsty.”Â
She pouted and said in a somewhat coquettish tone, “But I don’t want the coffee from the lounge. I want a milkshake from one of the shops out there.”Â
Lucian swept his gaze across the table. Then, he reached out, took one of the milks, and gave it to Camelia.Â
“Drink this. It’s healthier.” After a brief pause, he added, “You should drink fewer milkshakes and go for milk instead.”Â
Camelia asked curiously, “Why, though?”Â
Lucian glanced at Rosalie almost as if by accident and said, “You’ll be my bride, sooner or later. Naturally, you have to keep yourself healthy if you want to have my babies.”Â
“Stop it, you!” Camelia said and gave him a playful punch, her cheeks turning red. “Rosalie is right there. She’s gonna hear you.”Â
With a loud snap, Rosalie slammed the magazine shut. Rising to her feet, she grabbed her handbag and walked away. She couldn’t even be bothered to take her own cup of milk.Â
She walked over to a table farther away and took her seat. Raising her hand, she called a waiting staff member over.Â
“A cup of black coffee, please.”Â
Before long, the boarding announcement came over the speakers. Rosalie was taking a flight to Brax Valley. As it happened, Lucian and Camelia were headed to the same place. What was more, their seats were right in front of hers.Â
Rosalie immediately put on the eye mask and headphones the moment she took her seat on the plane. Thanks to the black coffee she drank earlier, however, she didn’t feel tired at all.Â
Even with the headphones on, their chatter was just loud enough to drift into her ears.Â
Lucian and Camelia probably thought that Rosalie was asleep because they no longer held back when they talked to each other.Â
Rosalie heard Camelia saying that she didn’t think he would insist on going with her on her work trip to Brax Ville. To that, he responded that he simply cared about her too much to let her go alone.Â
They even started talking about the places they would go after Camelia was done with her work.Â
Eventually, the plane touched down at the airport uneventfully. Rosalie ignored them the whole time. As soon as she got her luggage, she made her way straight to the hotel.Â
