Chapter 110 She Actually Slapped Me
Rosalie could hardly believe it. How could a man be this brazen?
Anger surged so hard she almost flipped the plate of fish into his lap. She wanted even more to get up and slap him across the face, but her manners pulled tight on her temper.
She took a deep breath and looked up at him, her eyes cold with contempt. “Lucian, I don’t owe you anything. Just leave me alone!”
For a moment, something like panic flickered in Lucian’s eyes, but he pushed through it. “You used to cook fish for me all the time. You’d even pick the bones out before I took a bite.”
He turned and tried to goad Julian. “Did she ever do that for you?”
“I don’t need her to,” Julian drawled, tipping back in his chair with a cold smile. “But you keep
running over here to prove how much my wife used to love you.
“What’s wrong? Your girlfriend can’t give you what you want, so you came here to get my
wife’s attention?”
Lucian’s expression darkened. “You know she loves me. You’d better back off and stop freeloading off her,” he said through gritted teeth.
Rosalie had had enough. She slapped Lucian hard, her eyes blazing as she snapped, “Lucian, I told you! I don’t love you anymore! Stop forcing your way into my life! You and Camelia are pathetic!”
Lucian stared at her, stunned.
She slapped him and even called him pathetic?
“Rosalie, what are you doing?” Camelia rushed up, glaring at her. “If you’re angry, take it out on me! How could you hit Lucian? He’s worried about you! He keeps warning you because he’s afraid that the freeloader is conning you!”
Rosalie took in Camelia’s fake performance and almost laughed. “How generous of you! You
can stand there while your man moons over his ex right in front of you. But I can’t! And neither can my husband! We’re normal! We won’t put up with that!”
With that, she didn’t spare them another glance. She grabbed Julian’s wrist and said, “We’re done here. Let’s go.”
This time, Julian didn’t pull her into his arms. He just stood when she tugged and walked beside her.
As they passed Lucian, Julian paused, turned just enough, and warned in a low voice, “Pester

At the counter, Rosalie reached for her card, but the manager glanced at Julian at her side and pasted on his most respectful smile.
“I’m sorry, ma’am. That was our fault for ruining your meal. You and the gentleman barely touched your food, so please allow us to waive the bill as an apology.”
Rosalie blinked at the unexpected kindness, murmured thanks, and walked out with Julian.
Only after they left did Camelia steer Lucian back to their table.
Lucian’s cheek throbbed, but the humiliation and shock hurt worse.
“She actually slapped me over an outsider? She slapped me?” he muttered, still dazed.
Rosalie had always been the calm one, the type to throw out a sharp remark and let it go even when she was furious. But this time, she raised her hand and slapped him.
Camelia said softly, “Lucian, it looks like Rosalie has really made up her mind. She won’t forgive us. Maybe we shouldn’t show up in front of her anymore.”
That set him off like a spark to gunpowder.
“Why not?” His eyes went bloodshot, fury and disbelief colliding. “I treated her so well. I was even willing to set aside the feud between our families. But this is how she repays me? She stoops so low just to spite me, and she even dares to slap me!”
