Just as the original scene described, Sabrina stepped in wearing a simple black tracksuit, her features flawless, her presence commanding.

From the moment she appeared, the room seemed to shrink around her.

“Who’s that? Who is she?”

“My God, is this woman out of her mind? She actually drove straight through the door?”

“She’s insane!”

Whispers erupted on all sides, the air brimming with awkward tension.

The wedding ceremony ground to a halt.

Up on stage, Cordelia’s face turned an icy shade; whoever had barged into her wedding had crossed a line.

Smashing through the door with a car–she might as well have spit in the faces of both the Roffes and the Garners.

The Roffes in the front rows all wore matching scowls.

The officiant on stage cleared his throat and asked, “Miss, who exactly are you?”

Sabrina brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear, her lips curling into a defiant smile. She gave a careless shrug. “I was going to bring a confetti cannon,” she said lightly, “but then I thought … you don’t deserve it.”

“Hisss!”

A sharp hiss rolled through the guests.

Did she have any idea whose wedding this was?

And to say something like thatunbelievable.

From the front row, the Roffes jumped from their seat. Rhea rose to her feet, her almond eyes narrowing with cold fury. “Miss, do you have any idea what you’re doing? Today is the marriage between the Roffes and-”

“Of course I know,” Sabrina cut in, her tone dripping with mockery.

“Haha! Though calling it a marriage is generous. I’d say it’s more like a volatile shrew shackling herself to a mama’s boy. But hey–if you’re fine with it, don’t let me stop you.”

She started forward, heels clicking against the floor. “I’m not here to stop theng,” she went on. “I’m here to give the lovely bride, Ms. Cordelia, a friendly reminder.”

Cordelia’s fingers tightened under the folds of her white gown; her composure stretched thin.

Sabrina continued, “Ms. Cordelia, about two months ago, you showed up uninvited at my family’s estate and made a scene. So today, I thought I’d return the favor–show up uninvited to your wedding. Now we’re even.”

“You’re Sabrina Nelson?”

“That’s right.”

She flashed a quick smile, letting her gaze sweep across the Roffes before pausing–deliberately–on Alisa for two seconds.

Murmurs rippled through the crowd.

“What’s going on?”

“Hadn’t Sabrina been dead for years? How was she still alive?”

“You really think you’re untouchable, don’t you?” Sabrina said. “You barged into my home, roughed people up, and tried to ruin my family. My brother–born sick and frail–might be easy to bully, but I’m not.

“And since the Roffes declared war, I’m here to answer it. But before that, I show up with a genuine reminder, Cordelia.

“You probably didn’t know, did you? The man standing next to you has been keeping a little first love on the side. That ten- carat wedding ring on your finger? He had a nearly identical one custom–made for her–same design, bigger stone.”

Gasps shot through the hall. Darcy’s face

tale.

Cordelia turned to him, shot him a glance, and refused to believe it.

“Sabrina, stop making things up.”

Sabrina laughed, low and sharp. “Hahaha! Making things up? I have photos. Take them–they’re free.”

She pulled a thick stack from her pocket and tossed them into the air.

White prints fluttered down like an ill omen, scattering across the aisle.

One landed right in Cordelia’s hands. She caught it and glanced down. Darcy was walking into a restaurant, arm in arm with woman who was wearing a green dress. And on that woman’s finger, the exact same ring.

Only bigger.

The moment Cordelia’s eyes landed on the photo, the blood drained from her face. A dark, simmering rage flickered in her gaze. She turned sharply toward Darcy, her voice taut. “Darcy, what the heck is going on?”

Darcy’s confidence faltered. For a second, he seemed ready to speak, but no words came. His lips moved, then closed again, as if swallowing an excuse he knew wouldn’t hold.

Down in the crowd, guests bent to pick up the scattered photographs–the Roffes among them.

Alisa studied her copy without a flicker of surprise. She had seen this coming.

If Cordelia was going to get her heart broken, better now than later.

“Oh my God, it’s true–Darcy’s seeing another woman.”

“Look! She’s wearing the exact same wedding ring as Cordelia.”

“Poor Cordelia! This is humiliating.”

From the stage, Sabrina watched Cordelia’s pallor with quiet satisfaction. Her work here was done.

“That man beside you?” Sabrina said, her voice almost playful. “He’s been in love with that woman for ten years–his precious first love. And you? How long have you two even been together?”

She gave a short laugh! “Well, my blessings are delivered. I’ll see myself out.”

With the wedding in shambles and chaos rippling through the hall, Sabrina turned to leave, savoring the dramatic exit.

In the original course of events, Cordelia would have stormed off stage in anger, the ceremony ending unfinished.

Divorce wouldn’t be an option–they’d already signed the papers, and the families‘ fortunes were now tangled together. This

was no casual romance.

Cordelia would fall ill from the blow, but ultimately, she’d have no choice but to swallow the humiliation

But Alisa had no intention of letting the story play out so neatly.

Chapter 5 What a Pitiful Sight You Are!

“Ms. Nelson, wait a minute.”

Just as Sabrina reached for the car

а

cool, refined voice drifted from behind her.

She froze mid–step, then turned her head toward the sound.

Of course she had researched the Roffes before coming, right down to Alisa–the former maid in her household.

In Sabrina’s mind, Alisa was the most useless of them all.

Someone not even worth acknowledging.

Yet here Alisa was, the first to step forward.

Realizing how precarious things were, Vanis

and the others stiffened. With the Roffes now tied to the Garners by marriage,

one misstep could drag both families into disgrace.

Vania caught Alisa by the arm, pulling her behind. “Alisa, what are you doing? Things are chaotic now–stay back.”

Alisa gave her a reassuring glance. “Don’t worry, Grandma.”

She stepped forward until she stood almost level with Cordelia, her voice calm and clear.

“Ms. Nelson, thank you for coming all the way from the Auric Club to give Cordelia a warning. But… didn’t you just auction yourself off to Mr. Vaughn last night for 50 million? Does he know

you’ve slipped away? Won’t he be upset?”

The whole scene fell into silence.

Holy cow!

The room became silent as everyone turned their attention back to Sabrina.

Only moments ago, she’d worn the smug grin of a victor. Now, caught off guard, her expression froze, and her face turned

solemn.

Alisa declared, “I own what I’ve done. In all of Qodon, no one who’s crossed us has ever met went bankrupt because of us. My family stepped in to protect me and to settle the score.”

Her gaze sharpened, cutting straight to Sabrina.

a

good end. And yes, your family

But you–your parents sold you to a nightclub the moment you came back, just to pay off their debts. Tsk! What a pitiful sight you are.”
