Chapter 109 

Bailey’s pov 

My throat hurt, tears roll down my cheeks as I stare in complete terror as Stefan, who moments ago had gripped my chin so harshly was now to his knees clutching his stomach. I could see his back tense as his head tilt down clearly because he was eyeing his wound. 

A gurgle sound pushes out of his throat followed by a harsh cough that seem to shake his entire body. My heart thuds loudly, prickles of goosebumps dot across my skin as fear stilled me in my place. 

A few feet away from us is Juliet who still kept the gun aimed at Stefan. “This is all your fault by the way, Bailey,” she harsh out, her angry eyes striking me across the slight distance between us. Satisfaction. That’s the gleam that pierced into me as her gaze remain on mine. 

See what you made me do?” She tilt her head mockingly, eyes glazing with contempt. She was blaming me being the reason she shot Stefan…she had officially gone insane. 

Stefan groans, coughing and this time something came out of his mouth. Blood. 

My body shook with terror. 

I didn’t think I had a chance to get away now. I didn’t think anyone would get to me in time. 

“You crazy-” cough bitch,” Stefan coughed out, splattering more blood on the floor. His head turn to me slightly and our eyes meet. They were glassy now, unfocused and swam with pain….so opposite of the gleam he showed me earlier. The sight knocked the breath out of my lungs. 

He eyed me silently and then his brows furrowed as the windows to his soul reveal the emotion of regret. He looked at me with guilt, tear his eyes away and slump even more to the floor. His breathing grows ragged. 

Juliet rolls her eyes. “Yes I am crazy Stefan. Crazy enough to remove any obstacle,” she steps forward and the gun shifted with her, barrel now pointing to my chest. My heart stops.” that’s in my way,” she finishes, lips curling into a taunting smirk. 

I sucked in a shaky breath, my mind racing with impossible thoughts of escape that I knew would never be fruitful in my situation. My eyes can only focus on the gun that’s pointing directly at me, teasing me of incoming pain……or death. 

The air around me seem to thicken and I can find no words but a whimper of fear. She liked that sound, she glorified in it, saying a nice ah sound as though she tasted something sweet. My fear was sweet to her. 

Killing her won’t make Kaleb-” Stefan suddenly wheezed out, groaning as he presses his hand harder on his stomach. I was too scared even look at him but I knew his condition wasn’t good, especially when his breaths become more irregular. 

Juliet stops in her tracks, her eyes plastered on me but she waited for Stefan to finish his words. “Love you,” Stefan finished on a hesitant breath. 

Her body stiffens and I watch with battered breath as her jaw clenches hard. She was furious, her pores alone emitted out the odor. She despise those words that left his mouth with the same contempt she had towards me. 

And then she let it out. The most feral scream she ever tore since she revealed her face to me.” Shut up!” her words directed at Stefan, gun wavering from me to him. “And you think Bailey would ever love you if I had let you go with her to your stupid fantasy 

land!?”

Chapter 105 

Stelan let out a weak broken laugh and my heart thrums louder, unsure if his plan was to really provoke her so she’d hurt him even mone. If it was so, then his plan sucked and would not only harm him even more but I’d also end up in the crossfire…..even though! already clearly was, 

His laugh ruffled her even more like I expected, her eyes wild. Coming from a stupid guy who knew Kaleb was madly in love with Bailey but still wanted her. So instead of being man enough to confess his feelings he provoked his best friend into a dare so he would later use against him.” 

could hardly process her angry words through the harsh beating of my heart, but they landed hard and leave a sick twisted feeling in my gut. Her eyes narrowed on him and she shook the gun, aiming at his body. 

*Tell her the truth Stefan. Tell her your plan. You knew Kaleb was deeply in love with Bailey but didn’t want to admit it yet. Being in love with Bailey yourself you confessed it to him to see if he would back off not knowing that he wouldn’t let her go for anyone. Seeing that didn’t work, you taunted him with a bet. You knew you wouldn’t court Bailey while he was courting her” she faces me, a sheer on her lips. 

“You waited for this moment just so you can show her your little video, hoping and praying she’d be hurt enough to hate Kaleb,” She snorts, facing Stefan who had yet to utter a single word. 

She steps forward and my breath snagged in my throat. “You know damn well Kaleb only agreed to that bet so you could back off, Why don’t you show her the rest of the video where he finally succumbed to the truth of his feelings and told you that Bailey was more than a bet to him hmm? That Bailey was his and you had better stay away from her? Tell her how he chose Bailey over your dumbass. Tell her how he said that the deal was off. Show her where he walked out on you. Show her!” 

Shut the fuck up!” Stefan rasped, coughing out more blood. 

“You lost Stefan,” Juliet giggles tauntingly, her eyes glazing over with mockery. “But I won’t,” the barrel of the gun returns to aim at me and my heart drops. 

This is it, isn’t it? I was about to die. 

Stefan snorts, chuckling while clutching his stomach. “I don’t think you understand Juliet,” he raised his head and looked at her. 

You lose.” 

Juliet rolls her eyes. “You can barely stand up and you’re bleeding out. I think you should save your breath.” 

Stefan shook his head and with a shaky hand he reaches in his pocket and pulls out his phone. He flashes the screen at Juliet who froze. “I’ve been on call with 911 from the moment you walked to that draw,” he chuckled hoarsely. “I guess we both lose.”
