Chapter 19
Hearing Hansen’s words, Shea’s face immediately flushed, and memories of what had happened after she had gotten drunk the previous night surfaced in her mind.
“What was I thinking? I shouldn’t be thinking about that!” Shea screamed in her mind.
Her face flushed even deeper, her neck turning a rosy pink as well.
“I… I didn’t mean that!”
Shea hurriedly tried to change the subject. “I was just looking at your hand!”
“Looking at my hand?” Hansen raised an eyebrow. “Really?”
Shea nodded repeatedly. “A wedding should feel ceremonial, so I wanted to give you a wedding gift.”
Hansen nodded upon hearing this and then pulled the car over to the side of the road.
Shea froze for a moment, wondering what he was doing.
Before she could react, Hansen looked at her and reached out his hand.
Shea’s heart raced as she looked at him, her mind involuntarily filled with some inappropriate images.
She thought, “Is… this too rushed?”
At 9:00 pm, Liam was at a club playing billiards with friends. He had just lost a round and was determined to win the next one.
Unfortunately, he fell just short again, losing once more.
Liam felt a wave of frustration. Just as he was about to suggest another round, his phone buzzed with a new message.
He picked it up and saw that it was from Hansen.
“Mr. Grant? Could something serious have happened?” Liam muttered to himself, quickly opening the message.
“Did he send this by mistake? Why is there a photo of him wearing a watch?” Liam stared blankly and replied with a question mark.
The reply came quickly.
Hansen replied, “My wife bought me this watch. What do you think? Does it look good?”
Liam stared at the message, speechless.
“Great. So he’s just showing off his relationship now?” he thought.
Liam clicked his tongue as he texted, “You are a president of all people… and yet you are still this
childish? Unbelievable.”
Liam looked completely exasperated.
He gave up on playing billiards and walked straight to the nearby sofa, plopping down.
No sooner had he sat than his phone buzzed with another message.
Hansen had replied, “You don’t have a wife, so I understand you don’t get romance.”
And to top it off, Hansen sent a smile emoji.
Liam stared blankly at his phone.
“Seriously? Just because he has a wife, he thinks he’s better than me? Why look down on me, a single guy… no! A single elite!” he thought bitterly.
He made up his mind.
He was going to cut Hansen off… for exactly three minutes-not a second less.
Back at home, Shea didn’t waste a second.
She quickly told Hansen that she still had work to do, then practically bolted into the study.
Once the door was closed behind her, she leaned against it, her heart still pounding.
She let out a long breath. “Good thing I got out fast… or else…”
Thinking back to what had just happened in the car, Shea couldn’t help but feel her cheeks heat
“Here, this is for you.”
Sitting in the passenger seat, Shea had taken out the watch she had prepared long ago and
handed it to Hansen.
Her face was still flushed, annoyed at herself for thinking the wrong things earlier.
Hansen took the watch box, admiring the beautiful watch inside. He pulled it out but didn’t put it on immediately. Instead, he handed it back to Shea.
Shea froze for a moment.
“Then please help me put it on, Shea,” Hansen said, his deep gaze fixed on her. “Is that okay?”
Shea naturally had no reason to refuse. She nodded and took the watch, leaning slightly toward Hansen and lowering her head to carefully fasten it onto his wrist.
“All set…” she murmured, and when she lifted her head, she was startled. He was far too close.
The space between her and Hansen was dangerously small, close enough that she could hear his
breathing and the rhythm of his heartbeat… but she suddenly realized that it sounded like her
own heartbeat.
“You…
Shea couldn’t help but speak, but the moment she did, her breath brushed against Hansen’s face, making the air between them charged with tension.
Hansen’s gaze slowly drifted from Shea’s eyes down to her lips. His Adam’s apple moved slightly as he lowered his head, bringing their faces closer and closer.
Shea instinctively leaned in as well, the distance between them shrinking to the point where she could count every lash on Hansen’s eyes.
Their lips hadn’t touched yet, but their breaths were already mingling.
Just as they were about to touch, a sudden honk from behind jolted them apart.
Snapping out of her memories in the study, Shea couldn’t help but pat her flushed cheeks.
Meanwhile, Hansen, still at the door, couldn’t help but smile, thinking Shea was just too adorable.
Thinking of Liam, who had just been hit with his sweet moment, he headed upstairs while sending him a bonus. He was in a particularly good mood now.
Hansen messaged, “A reward.”
Liam, who hadn’t heard from him for just two minutes, stared at his phone in complete confusion.
Holding his phone, Liam was completely baffled-he had no idea what Hansen was thinking.
Even though he didn’t understand, that didn’t stop him from accepting the bonus. After all, a bonus from Hansen was too good to pass up.
No sooner had he received it than Hansen sent him another message.
Hansen asked, “Do you know what kind of gifts girls usually like? I want to get something for Shea.
Liam, once again forced to witness a display of affection, was left speechless.
He thought, “Got it. That bonus is his way of making up for my emotional distress.”
While Hansen and Liam exchanged messages, Shea finally composed herself in the study.
She opened her computer and logged into her short-video account.
As soon as she logged in, she saw over 99 pending notifications from fans urging her to post an update.
“Lately, I’ve been way too busy…” Shea sighed lightly, then immediately opened her live- streaming software.
Shea’s hobby was being a voice actress who only streamed with her voice, never showing her face.
Over time, she had accumulated quite a number of fans.
As soon as she went live, fans who received the notification flooded into her stream to greet her, and Shea responded to each of them
“Why haven’t you streamed recently?”
Seeing many fans asking this, Shea smiled and replied, “Because I had to take some time off for my wedding.”
“What? You got married? Congratulations!”
“Happy newlyweds!”
“Wow, wishing you a lifetime of happiness!”
Many fans sent their blessings, but some of her longtime viewers got bolder and unmuted themselves to speak directly to her on the livestream.
One fan laughed. “Hey, how’s married life going? Is your husband… doing well in that department?”
“Come on, spill the details just for us. We promise we won’t tell anyone!”
Seeing the comments take a slightly naughty turn, Shea couldn’t help but feel both amused and a little exasperated.
But after all, this was online-she didn’t show her face, and no one really knew each other.
So she decided to play along with a joke. “Well… I don’t really know either. The wedding night was so rushed, I’m not even sure if my husband… did okay…” Just as she finished speaking, a knock came at the door.
