“Where is Sandria?”
The aura around the man was so powerful it made people tremble, but Zaiden’s eyes darted, and he spoke without hes-
itation.
“Sandria? I don’t know what you’re talking about. My brother and I just came here to…”
But this time, Fulbert didn’t waste words with him, only spoke coldly.
“Beat them! Keep going until they’re willing to talk!”
Zaiden hadn’t expected them to attack so suddenly, and he had no chance to fight back. He was pinned down and beaten, wailing in pain.
“This is your last chance. Where is Sandria?!”
Seeing that the beating was almost enough, Fulbert grabbed him and spoke coldly.
Zaiden had lost several teeth from the beating, his mouth full of blood and foam.
“I… I don’t know, maybe she’s dead!”
Hearing these venomous words, Fulbert could no longer suppress the anger that had built up in his chest.
He stepped forward and kicked Zaiden hard in the chest.
The force was so great that Zaiden flew several meters, landing heavily on the ground, blood gushing from his mouth.
“Take these two away and keep an eye on them. I’ll search for her myself!”
The wind howled atop the building. Sandria’s nerves were taut as she strained to distinguish the sounds outside.
“Bang!” came the sound of the iron door being pushed open.
It’s over, they’ve found this place!
Sandria held her breath, gripping the stick she had just found tightly in her hand.
The moment the door opened, she didn’t even think–she just swung the stick wildly,
But in the next second, the stick was snatched away, and she fell straight into someone’s arms.
“Let go of me!!!”
She struggled, but then a familiar voice sounded above her head.

“Sandy! It’s me, Fulbert!”
Sandria jerked her head up, meeting the man’s eyes, deep and dark as ink.
Only then did she realize, belatedly, that she had been rescued.
The string that had been pulled so tight gradually loosened.
Her legs gave out, and she collapsed toward the ground.
“Careful!”
Fulbert reached out and caught her steadily.
Sandria, like a deflated balloon, was held in Fulbert’s arms.

The man lowered his head and comforted her gently, “It’s all right now. My people have taken control of them. You’re safe.”
His warm breath brushed the top of her head, and his words were like a calming pill.
Sandria’s heart finally settled a little. She leaned lightly against him and gave a bitter smile.
“Fulbert, my legs have gone weak.”
Hearing her soft, cat–like whimper, Fulbert pressed his lips together, knowing she had been frightened.
“I’ll carry you down.”
Then he picked her up in his arms and carried her downstairs.
From the twenty–second floor to the first, Fulbert’s breathing remained as steady as ever.
Meanwhile, after confirming that the person who fell was not Sandria, Florentino finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He turned to go look for Sandria.
But after only a few steps, he ran straight into Fulbert, who was carrying Sandria.
“Sandy!”
Florentino rushed forward, trying to take her away.
“Fulbert, you’re not needed here. I’ll take her back safe and sound.”
“Get lost!”
Before Florentino’s hand could even touch Sandria, he was kicked away.
Fulbert held Sandria in his arms, looking down at him from above.
“Florentino, remember your place. Sandy is my girlfriend now.”

With that, he turned and took her to the car.
Florentino’s chest ached terribly, but he still looked up in Sandria’s direction.
“Sandy, you…”
But Sandria kept her head buried in the man’s arms. From beginning to end, she didn’t spare him a single glance.
Compared to the pain in his chest, the panic in Florentino’s heart was even more suffocating.
Before, he had always thought Sandria was just putting on a show with Fulbert to get back at him.
He believed that as soon as he spoke, she would obediently come back to him.
