“Yeah, how did Sandria get involved with Bert?”
Everyone chimed in, their words like barbed knives.
They stripped away Florentino’s last shred of dignity, exposing the truth beneath for all to see.
Florentino gripped his glass so tightly that his fingertips turned white.
He suddenly stood up, snorted heavily, and threw out, “Fulbert is crazy, spouting nonsense!”
Then he stormed off in anger.

Meanwhile, after leaving the bar, Sandria and Lynette didn’t rush home but found a nearby restaurant for a late–night snack.
“Sandy, with our abilities, our studio will make a name for itself in the industry in no time.”
Lynette was pondering where to find clients so the studio could flourish as soon as possible.
“Speaking of clients, there’s something I haven’t had a chance to tell you.”
Sandria pursed her lips slightly. “That job you introduced before, the real boss behind it was actually Fulbert. Where did you find that partnership? What are the odds?”
“The founder of Skyline Technologies is actually Fulbert? I was just taking a shot in the dark. I never expected some- one like him would work with a newly opened studio like ours.”
Who would have thought the boss behind the scenes was Fulbert?
Seeing how surprised Lynette was, Sandria was sure she really didn’t know.
After thinking it over, Lynette’s gaze lingered several times on Sandria’s alluring face.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up and she squinted. “Could it be that Fulbert is actually interested in you? You’re so stunning- any man would be captivated.”
Sandria admitted she did have the charm to attract people.
But someone like Fulbert could never have such simple motives, and he would never be swayed by beauty alone.
He must have another agenda, but what that is, she still couldn’t figure out.
“That’s unlikely. Before this, I was just a somewhat well–known model at the Burnham Group, and I’ve only met him
a handful of times. But…”

Sandria murmured, then gave a light laugh. Her beautiful fox–like eyes sparkled. “Whatever he’s up to, since I’ve al- ready agreed to work with him, I might as well play along and see what happens…”
Seeing her like this, Lynette couldn’t help but sigh. “As expected, leaving men behind is the start of a clear–headed, independent woman. Fulbert may look proper, but he’s still a man. Who knows if he’ll turn out to be a jerk like Flo- rentino?”
“Sandy, don’t fall for it. Make him kneel and call you mommy.”
“Are you talking about me?”
A scent of orchids drifted closer, and a voice suddenly sounded from behind them.
Hearing the familiar voice, Sandria paused slightly and turned around.
Only to meet Fulbert’s long, narrow phoenix eyes.
“What are you doing here?”
Sandria’s fox–like eyes widened a little, but somehow she looked a bit cute.
Damn, the guilt of being caught talking about someone behind their back.
“Yes, what a coincidence-”
Fulbert drew out the last syllable, his eyes probing. “Were you two just talking about me?”
Sandria, quick–witted, concealed her guilty conscience and raised an eyebrow, parting her lips to speak.
“Mr. Ortega, we’re business partners now. Lindsay and I were just talking about you to make sure our future coopera- tion goes smoothly. Why shouldn’t we talk about you?”
“I see.”
Fulbert let out a meaningful ‘oh. “Aren’t you going to invite me to sit? Don’t forget, besides our business partnership, we have another kind of relationship, right, my girlfriend?”
Lynette was so shocked by this that her jaw nearly dropped.
What?
Girlfriend? Sandy hadn’t mentioned that to her just now!
She was nosy, but after glancing back and forth between the two, Lynette decisively stood up.
“Oh dear, I feel so dizzy. I’m going home, Sandy, you go ahead and eat.”
Then she hurried off, not looking the least bit drunk.
Sandria gritted her teeth inwardly.
What nonsense was this man spouting in front of her friend?
