“Mr. Burnham is right, I did climb up to someone far more powerful than you, someone you’ll never reach in your lifetime. With just a flick of his finger, you could go bankrupt-”
“So, don’t mess with me. Otherwise, who knows if the Burnham Group will still exist tomorrow?”
Wine dripped down Florentino’s face, his complexion turning a deep, livid red.
His fists clenched and unclenched as he forced down his humiliation.
He knew that what Sandria said was true.
After all, if the Schroeder family wanted his family to go bankrupt, it would be a piece of cake.
Right now, he didn’t want to, and couldn’t, anger her.
Lynette, unable to hold back any longer, burst out laughing.
“Oh, that was a perfect splash! Some people just wanted it all, chose Courtney, that so–called lady, and now turn around and mock others for not wanting them, for climbing up the ladder. Don’t you think it’s ridiculous to say that
now?”
“With your trashy self, my bestie is way out of your league now. How could she ever want you again? Sandy, let’s go, let’s find somewhere else to drink. This place is just bad luck!”
Florentino’s face was as black as the bottom of a pot, and he could only watch helplessly as the two women strode
away.
Little did he know, this scene had already been witnessed by a man sitting in a booth in the corner.
His
eyes were cold and sharp, but then he curled his lips slightly and called over a nearby waiter.
He leaned in and whispered a few words.
The waiter nodded and quickly walked in the direction of Florentino.
The waiter went over and said a few words. Florentino’s group looked over and came straight towards them.
Shane was still unaware of the falling out between the two, and instead greeted them with a smile.
“What a coincidence, Bert, you’re here too. Let’s all have a drink together.”
Fulbert sat upright in the booth, his gaze sweeping over everyone present.
He carried himself like someone in a position of power, reserved and noble.
Then he let out a soft laugh, looking at Shane, who had been the most boisterous just now.

“I remember the Stuart family wanted to acquire a piece of land in the South End suburbs. I forgot to tell you, I don’t want to sell it anymore. I’m planning to develop a new project.”
“Bert, what do you mean by that?”
Shane was taken aback for a moment before speaking.
Fulbert let out a low chuckle. “Exactly what I said. Also, the cooperation previously agreed upon with the Bautista family, the Montoya family, and the Boyle family is canceled as well.”
They were furious but dared not speak out, still unsure of how they had offended Fulbert.
Finally, Fulbert’s gaze landed on Florentino.
As their eyes met, invisible sparks seemed to fly between them.
Fulbert curled his lips, his eyes tinged with contempt, and downed his drink in one go.
Afterwards, he brushed imaginary dust off his clothes and sighed theatrically.
“Forget it. If you still look down on me because I’m with Sandy, then our brotherhood ends here.”
With that, Fulbert turned and left, not giving Florentino a chance to speak.
What?
This bombshell left everyone completely stunned.
They were slow to react, exchanging bewildered glances.
Sandria is with Fulbert now?
So, was his behavior just now actually standing up for Sandria?!
All the business deals they had agreed upon were snatched away and abandoned by Fulbert, leaving them anxious, dissatisfied, and full of questions.
But because of Fulbert’s status and the power behind him, they dared not say more.
All they could do was direct their doubts at Florentino, who seemed to know the truth.
Shane asked anxiously, “Tino, what on earth is going on? Does this have something to do with Sandria?”
