“That’s right, this performance is just as good as the concert I heard in Shorefield before.” 

“Not bad, not bad. I must go ask Mr. Schroeder later–does this young lady have a fiance?” 

Sandria slowly stood up and nodded slightly to the crowd. 

Her demeanor was calm and elegant, as if she had just finished a trivial performance. 

Then, her gaze swept past the excited crowd and landed on Courtney, whose face was as pale as a ghost. 

She smiled and said, “Courtney, didn’t you just say you wanted to guide me? What did you think of my performance? Or would you like to play a piece yourself?” 

Courtney trembled all over, her face burning as if she had been slapped hundreds of times in public. 

How could this be possible? 

Wasn’t Sandria supposed to be a good–for–nothing who couldn’t do anything? 

How could she play the piano? And be so amazing at it? 

In front of so many distinguished guests, the pure and talented image that Courtney had so carefully crafted was shat- tered to pieces by Sandria’s piano performance. 

She suddenly found herself in an awkward position, unable to advance or retreat. 

If she really played, she would only become Sandria’s stepping stone. 

So, she had to find an excuse to muddle through. 

Courtney pressed her lips together, trying her best to appear unconcerned. “Sandy, your performance was excellent, but… I didn’t have breakfast this morning, and now I think my blood sugar is low. I’m feeling a bit dizzy…” 

As soon as she finished speaking, Courtney swayed twice and then collapsed straight to the ground. 

“Courty!” 

Gaston, standing nearby, turned pale. He rushed forward in a flash and caught her steadily. 

He shot a fierce glare at Sandria. 

Then, holding Courtney in his arms, he quickly hurried out of the banquet hall. 

And so, this farce came to a hasty end. 

But anyone with eyes could tell whether she had really fainted or not.

The group of noble ladies who had been gathered around Sandria now all left with flushed faces. 

No one dared to say another word. 

Meanwhile, Ashlan made his way through the crowd and walked over to Sandria. 

With a proud yet tender smile, he reached out and ruffled his sister’s hair. 

“Our Sandy is truly amazing–one performance and she’s already famous in Eaveton.”

Sandria’s smile was lively, her eyes sparkling. “I’m also from the Schroeder family. With such great genes, how could I possibly be anything less?” 

Ashlan couldn’t help but laugh. 

His sister was truly outstanding. 

And with such an excellent sister, of course he had to protect her well. 

Thinking of what had just happened, Ashlan’s gaze grew sharper, and then he spoke in a voice that was neither too loud nor too soft. 

Yet it was enough for everyone in the hall to hear. 

“Sandy, if you ever encounter someone or something that upsets you, just hit back. I’ll stand up for you. Anyone who makes my sister unhappy is making me, Ashlan, unhappy! And that means making the entire Schroeder family un- happy.”

This was clearly the most direct warning! 

A warning to everyone: Sandria was the one the Schroeder family cherished above all, and no one could afford to cross her. 

Those socialites who had just mocked Sandria along with Courtney now turned pale with fright, wishing they could find a hole to crawl into. 

Meanwhile, more people immediately put on enthusiastic smiles and hurried forward. 

“Ms. Schroeder is so outstanding, we can’t help but admire her.”
