Of course, Sandria didn’t miss the calculating look in her eyes.
She sat up a little straighter, swirling the wine glass gently by its stem.
“Sure.”
She had nothing better to do anyway, so she might as well play along.
Watching how even the smallest gesture from her could captivate everyone’s attention, Courtney cursed inwardly, calling her a vixen.
But what use is a pretty face anyway?
In high society, it’s ability that counts, not looks.
Soon, Courtney led Sandria to the other side, where several elegantly dressed women in their early twenties were chatting together.
When they saw Courtney bringing Sandria over, they frowned slightly, their eyes filled with barely concealed disdain.
After all, they had all heard from Courty about what happened yesterday.
Courty had just said the wrong thing and offended this newly returned Ms. Schroeder.
But this Ms. Schroeder wouldn’t let it go, humiliating Courty on the spot.
Courty might be an adopted daughter, but she had grown up with them, was obedient, warm–hearted, and capable- much better than this Sandria who had appeared out of nowhere.
And that face–so alluring and seductive–surely she couldn’t be a good person?
Wasn’t she just relying on the Schroeder family name?
So at this moment, several of them were ready to stand up for Courtney.
One of the women suddenly spoke up, “Courty, why did you bring Ms. Schroeder over? We were just discussing the concert. I doubt Ms. Schroeder would understand, right?”
“After all, given Ms. Schroeder’s previous living environment… she probably hasn’t had much chance to experience such refined arts.”
As soon as she finished, a short–haired socialite beside her burst out laughing.
“Ada, don’t say that. Maybe she can play! After all, this stuff is even taught in elementary school textbooks!”
A wave of suppressed snickers rippled through the group.

Sandria had thought these fools would come up with something clever, but she hadn’t expected such childish tricks.
Other than mocking her lowly origins and supposed lack of virtue, what else could they do?
She realized she had overestimated Courtney, and spoke with a half–smile.
“Music, is that what you’re talking about?”
Then she walked over to the piano nearby and politely addressed the pianist who was playing.
“Excuse me, may I borrow the piano for a moment?”
The pianist, stunned by her sudden beauty up close, was left speechless and could only nod,
The group exchanged glances, not quite understanding what was happening.
“What’s she trying to do, play a piece for us right here to prove herself?”
“Hahaha, will it even be listenable? Is she going to play ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star‘ for us?”
Their tone was dripping with sarcasm.
Sandria sat down gracefully, her slender, fair fingers resting lightly on the black and white keys.
The next second, a torrent of notes, as fierce as a sudden storm and as powerful as thunder, exploded from her finger- tips.
Ada, who had just led the mockery, was instantly stunned.
Piano had been a compulsory subject for them since childhood–how could she not recognize that Sandria was playing Franz Liszt’s “La Campanella“?
It was that world–renowned, devilishly difficult piano piece!
But how could this be?
Wasn’t she supposed to have grown up in poor circumstances? How could she play such a sophisticated piece, and so professionally at that?
As the music reached its climax, it was filled with defiance, struggle, and a pride that looked down on everything!
The piece came to an end.
The final note faded into the air.
The entire hall was so silent you could hear a pin drop. Those who had been chatting were now completely immersed in the soul–stirring musical storm, unable to extricate themselves.
No one knew how much time had passed before someone finally reacted, erupting into thunderous applause!
