The Farley family never thought of her as one of their own, much less cared about her feelings.
She had long since stopped wanting this so–called “family“.
“I won’t apologize. Florentino is engaged to another woman. And I’ve already resigned.”
Lola widened her eyes at once and punched Sandria in disappointment and fury.
“How could you? What about Nick’s apartment?”
Her eyes flickered as she leaned closer to Sandria and said with a greedy grin, “You were with Florentino for years. You can’t just walk away with nothing. I say you ask him for a sum of money. Reputation means the world to rich people, right? If he refuses, just embarrass him in every way you can–either make a scene, threaten him, or whatever you come up with. Then I bet he’ll give you the money. Anyway, you gotta give me 150 thousand dollars as soon as possible. Nick’s apartment can’t wait.”
Sandria found her words so laughable.
“I’ve been doing chores since elementary school. You didn’t pay a dime for my tuition. I’ve given you enough money over the years. You want me to pay for the apartment? Not gonna happen.”
After saying this, she was about to leave.
Yet Lola grabbed her wrist again.
“You damned girl! How dare you talk to me like this? I won’t take no for an answer! You just said he got engaged, right? That woman next to him is his fiancee, then. Perfect chance! Let’s go in there and make a scene in front of her.”
Sandria’s wrist throbbed under her iron–tight grip.
Unable to break free at all, Sandria stumbled awkwardly.
She knew Lola all too well. For Nick, she could do anything.
If Florentino wanted her life in exchange for the money, Lola wouldn’t hesitate to raise the knife.
Before Lola dragged her back into the mall, she said coldly, “I can get you the money.
“On one condition, though.”
Hearing this, Lola immediately let go.
“You should have said this from the start. Why wait till I lose my temper?”
As Sandria’s gaze fell upon the bruises on her wrist, the last shred of her gratitude vanished.

“I’ll give you 150 thousand dollars, but this will be the last time you ever take any money from me. I want nothing to do with you and your family from now on. You and Travis must sign a severance agreement.”
Lola was momentarily stunned.
Her eyes were filled with reluctance.
Even though Sandria and Florentino were no longer together, given her good looks and killer body, she could still find another sugar daddy.
Lola and Travis raised her for years, and she ought to repay them.
Seeing the greed on Lola’s face clearly, Sandria smiled sarcastically.
Then she said, “You think the Burnham family is to mess with? If you really go in there and make a scene to embar- rass them, you won’t get a dime.”
What Lola wanted was money.
Now that Sandria was jobless and dumped by Florentino, the odds of her scraping together 150 thousand dollars were close to zero.
At this, Lola nodded without hesitation.
“Fine. Give me the money. From now on, you have nothing to do with the Farley family.”
Though Sandria had anticipated Lola’s reaction, she still couldn’t help but feel sad.
“You think I just walk around with 150 thousand dollars in my pocket? Give me some time. It won’t be long, though. Two weeks, at most. Before that, get the severance agreement ready.”
Lola counted the days. Since the apartment wouldn’t be handed over within two weeks, she agreed.
Pointing at Sandria’s nose, she threatened, “You don’t wanna lie to me. Or I swear I’ll make you regret this.”
After saying this, she turned to leave while calling Nick. She beamed, “Nick, the golden ring you’ve always wanted? I’ll buy it for you. We’ll have 150 thousand dollars in a few days, and we get to ditch that damned girl…”
