Administrative manager – Amy Thomas.
I knew about her. She was promoted by President Morris and highly valued by him.
But Aidan’s reaction was like an eager puppy, practically wagging his tail.
Seeing that I remained silent, Lola thought I was scared and became even more smug: “Scared now, Emilia? This is why Aidan wisely chose me over a poor student like you.”
When she said that last line, Aidan unconsciously straightened his back.

“Darling, let’s go to that new restaurant in the west side of town tonight. I checked in advance – they don’t charge service fees,” Lola said with a pointed look at me.
Aidan took her hand enthusiastically: “Sure, darling.”
The two turned and left.
That restaurant belongs to my family too.
Ugh, how annoying.

As President Martin’s assistant, the Administrative Department one of my liaison departments.
Lola must have said something to Amy when she went back, because when I came to coordinate work with Amy today, she was completely cold towards me.
I kept my patience but finally got annoyed: “Amy, if you have any personal issues with me, please don’t bring them into work. It affects both our efficiency.”
Amy was unfazed. She slowly stood up from her chair, wearing a business suit and 10–centimeter heels that made her a head taller than me.
Looking down at me with contempt and indifference, she said slowly: “So you’re President Martin’s assistant? You’re quite famous. Although President Martin brought you into the company, rules are

For office supply purchases at the general manager level and above, it actually didn’t require my father’s (Chairman Allen’s) signature. Company policy didn’t explicitly state this – it only had one clause saying department purchases needed superior leadership’s signature.
The general manager’s superior was my father.
So this sister was playing word games to make things difficult for me.
I could have avoided handling these purchase documents, but I insisted on doing it myself because I wanted to familiarize myself with every department.
“Amy, these documents never needed Chairman Allen’s signature before,” I questioned matter–of–factly.
Amy smiled slightly: “That’s exactly why previous procedures were too casual, leading to sloppy work. This was just decided yesterday. Surely you understand, Assistant?”
I nodded: “I understand. When President Martin runs out of office supplies and has nothing to use, that will be your responsibility.”

pressure me by bringing up President Martin. Emilia, I despise people like you who use dirty tricks to climb up,” Amy’s eyes filled with hostility.
I didn’t bother explaining anymore: “Fine, keep despising then.”
Amy couldn’t be bothered to say more and returned the purchase form to me. As I took it, I noticed the ladies‘ watch on her wrist.
That was quite an expensive watch.
If I remembered correctly, a manager’s salary shouldn’t be able to afford that, right?
I took the form and left without saying anything more.
But this Amy person definitely had some issues.
After returning to my office, I quickly sent a message to my father’s assistant.
