Chapter 33
Alicia finally arrived at Diane’s school, the moment she got out of her car, she ran straight to the principal’s office, when she got there she placed a gentle but nervous knock on the door and was asked to come in. She heaved a deep breath before going in, meanwhile Diane who’s been sitting on a chair that’s placed in one corner of the principal’s office instantly got up when she saw her mother, then she ran to her in tears, Alicia crouched down to embrace her and console her, telling her that everything is going to be okay.
The little boy with whom Diane got into a fight with was also there with his mother, his mother was seated in a chair that’s in front of the principal and she was carrying him on her laps, the moment Alicia stepped in, she couldn’t stop glaring at her and scoffing all the while.
Alicia finally managed to calm Diane down, then she went to take a seat on the other chair that’s also in front of the principal, when she was seated, she carried Diane on her laps.
“Welcome Miss Alicia.” She greeted, Alicia nodded.
“Good day Ma’am.” She then looked at the other lady and also greeted her, that’s when she noticed the little boy sitting on her laps, she saw the bandage wrapped around his elbow and she knew he’s the one Diane got into a fight with but she couldn’t even tell why, the little boy seems to be hurting a lot and to think her daughter is responsible doesn’t sit well with her at all, she also can’t bring herself to accept the fact that Diane did that to him.
“Please what happened?” Alicia asked softly.
“According to Diane, Kevin said some hurtful words to her and she shoved him pretty hard, Kevin fell and injured his elbow in the process.”
“Oh my God.” Alicia gasp in shock, she then looked at Diane. “Why would you do that honey? Why would you injure your class mate? That’s not right Diane.” She scolded.
“He started it Mommy.” Diane cried out. “He was the one who bullied me first and mocked me for not having a father! He also called me fatherless.” She cried.
Alicia was shocked to hear this, she didn’t know what to do at this point, and seeing her daughter cry was breaking her heart.
Kevin’s mother suddenly scoffed. “Just because my son told your daughter the truth, that doesn’t give her the right to shove him to the ground and get him injured, I want her to apologize to Kevin this minute or else—”
“Or else what Ma’am.” Alicia cut her off, she looked at her. “What will you do Ma’am? Will you ask him to shove her too and get her injured? Or are you going to try and hit my daughter? Why didn’t you teach your son some good manners in the first place, my daughter doesn’t deserve to be bullied and told such hurtful words.”
Kevin’s mother scoffed. “Excuse me?” She dropped Kevin and stood up. “You have no right to talk about manners seeing you didn’t even raise your own daughter right, I mean if you had raised her well then she would have known better than to get into a fight and hurt her class mate, wasn’t there a teacher she could report to, but no she didn’t do that, rather she took matters into her own hand and hurt my little boy! Look at him.” She brought Kevin to stand in front of her. “Look at his elbow and look at his face too, my son has been crying and is in so much pain all because of your little untrained brat!” She spat.
Alicia also dropped Diane and stood up to face Kevin’s mom.
This wasn’t how the principal expected things to turn out, she tried saying something but Alicia beat her to it.
“I do apologize for what Diane did to your son but what I won’t take from you is questioning my daughter’s upbringing because I raised my daughter well so you have no right, I mean no right at all to question her upbringing or address her as a little untrained brat!” Alicia seethed. No one has ever insulted her daughter before and she won’t take it if anyone ever dares to do so.
Kevin’s mom sighed deeply. “I shouldn’t expect less from a single mother.”
“What did you say?” Alicia asked in disbelief.

“Your daughter clearly needs a father figure in her life, someone to help raise her appropriately, seeing your behavior, I have no doubt that she’s just like you and will definitely turn out even worse when she grows up.”
“Hey!!” Alicia half yelled.
Kevin’s mom turned to the principal. “I need some actions to be taken on this brat here for what she did to my son, I want her far away from him as possible, otherwise… I’m going to withdraw my son from this school!” She threatened, then she glared dangerously at Alicia. “I bet your bad characters must be the reason you ended up being a single mother in the first place.”
“Let’s go baby.” She bent to pick Kevin up and stormed out of there in rage.
Alicia was boiling with so much rage that she felt she would explode if she didn’t do something.
Meanwhile, the principal felt truly bad about how things turned out, she also didn’t expect Kevin’s mom to say those hurtful words to Alicia and it pained her so much.
“Miss Davis.” She called softly as she stood up. “Please-”
“Wait right here baby.” She said to Diane before storming out of the principal’s office.
“Miss Davis!” The principal called loudly, she was about going after Alicia but Diane held her hand.
“I can’t stay alone in here Ma’am.” She said softly.
“It’s fine Diane, you can go back to class now.”
Diane shook her head. “Mommy said to wait right here.”
“Diane.” The principal groaned in frustration, she has no idea what Alicia was going to do to Kevin’s mom and she needs to stop her so things doesn’t escalate even more.
She would have loved to take Diane with her since the little girl has refused to go to her class room, but she wouldn’t want her to see her mom engaging in any argument or whatsoever.
“I’ll just call your teacher to come stay here with you.”
