Adams was going through a file when someone knocked on his door.
“Come in.” He said, not taking his eyes off the file.

Mike walked in looking so gloomy and lost, obviously what happened between he and May was taking its toll on him.
Adams raised his head to look at Mike, when he noticed the sad look on his face, he frowned.
“What happened? And what are you even doing here? Didn’t I ask you to take a few days off.” He scolded. “You’re not even healed up yet.”
“I’m fine Adams.” Mike replied as he took a sit in front of Adams, he then sighed deeply, then managed to force out a small smile. “Thank you for the car too, I really appreciate it.”
Adams studied him for a while, he could easily tell that something was up with Mike, he dropped his file on his table. “What’s going on? You look like someone who just got his heart broken.”
“Well I did get my heart broken.” Mike sighed. “I’m just so stupid, I should have just minded my own business but my damn jealousy wouldn’t let me do that! It’s all my fault and I’m sure she hates me so damn much right now.” He shook his head, then
he threw his head backwards.
Adams had a confused frown on his face. “What are you even talking about? Can you try and explain all this in a way I’m going to understand because I’m having a difficult time trying to get where you’re coming from.”
After a few seconds, Mike sat properly and faced Adams. “It’s May.” He said in almost a whisper.
“Who’s May?”
“Alicia’s best friend, the lady you said threatened you with a restraining order the day you went to see Alicia at her house.”
Adams thought about this for a while, then he nodded. “Yes…Yes I remember her, she’s May? The one you’re talking about?”
“Yeah, and she’s working here too.”
“Wow, so err….What happened between you two?” He asked, then Mike explained all that happened to him.
“Well I do get it, but that’s not enough to make her react that
way.”
“You think so too right?” Mike hurriedly asked. Adams nodded.
“That’s what I don’t get, when she said those words it’s more like she was referring to something else.”
“Do you think it has something to do with her past, people tend to react like that when an event from their past is triggered too you know.” Adams suggested.
Mike ruffled his hair in frustration. “I really don’t know Adams, I literally know nothing much about her, just that her name is May and she’s Alicia’s best friend plus she works here too.”
“If you know nothing about her then why are you so bothered by her reaction, you can just get over it.”
“Well it’s not that simple Adams, I mean I can try to get over it and just stay away from her like she asked me too but it’s not that easy you know.”
“Why? Don’t tell me you have a thing for her.” Adams raised his brow suspiciously.
Mike instantly buried his face in his palms. “Don’t start Adams.” He groaned, then he raised his head up once more.
Adams couldn’t help but chuckle softly. “Come on man, you can tell me anything you know, and what’s there if you love her or

Mike gave Adams a bored look. “Seriously? No big deal? I didn’t even say I love her, I can’t just conclude like that but I do think I like her.” Mike admitted.
“See, you’re not even sure about you liking her because you still think you do.” Adams pointed out. “If you don’t want to stay away from her then you can try talking to her some other time, apologize to her and maybe she’ll have a change of heart, but you should still give her a little space though.” Adams adviced.
Mike looked at him in a funny way. “Since when do you start giving special advices huh.” He teased. Adams rolled his eyes at
him.
“Just get out Mike, I’m really busy and I have no time to deal with you or your love life which has been boring for centuries now.”
“Hey!” Mike half yelled. Adams smirked.
“Get going, I’ve got loads of work to do and I also don’t need you working for a few days, I mean it Mike.”
Mike scoffed, then he stood up. “I’m leaving!” He said before leaving.
“Bye Mike, good luck with your love life.” Adams yelled after him.
One moment he was smiling and the next he wasn’t. “I guess I’m the one who really needs the good luck here.” He muttered when he remembered Alicia.

Alicia was in her office at home, working on her next novel when her cell phone suddenly rang.
“Oh goodness!” She jumped up in freight.
She stared at her phone and groaned loudly, it happens that she had forgotten to switch it off before working, she really hates it when she’s disturbed while working, she hates any distractions as it mess with her head at that moment.
She grapped her phone and saw it was Diane’s principal that was calling, a little panic began setting in as she couldn’t tell why Diane’s principal was suddenly calling her, but she managed to calm herself down and take the call.
“Hello Ma’am.”
“Miss Davis?” The principal asked.
“This is she. I do hope there’s no issue Ma’am.”
“Your attention is needed here in school Miss Davis. Diane got into a fight with another kid and she hurt him pretty badly.” Alicia’s eyes widen in shock when she heard that. “What!?” She half yelled as she instantly stood up.
“Please come soon Miss Davis, you’re needed here.”
“I’m on my way.” She replied and then hung up.
Confusion and shock was written all over Alicia’s face as the principal’s words rang in her ears once more.
“No! That’s impossible, my Diane would never do that. Never!” She hurriedly grabbed her purse and car keys, then she ran out of her office.
