“I’m really sorry I didn’t tell you Alicia.” May apologized.Â
“CLE?” Alicia questioned, May nodded.Â
“I swear I didn’t know it was Adams company at first, actually I was searching for possible companies with available position in the marketing department and I saw three companies that had good reviews, CLE happens to be one of them and the top one at that, I only took note of the reviews and me being desperate to get a job, I applied immediately and after the application I began doing more research on the companies and that was when I found out that Adams was actually the CEO of CLE, I had already submitted my application before I even knew about it and I didn’t think I would get the job there too due to their high demands, I swear I was going to tell you even if you hadn’t asked.”Â
Alicia smiled. “I was only kidding May, I can’t believe you’ll think I’ll get mad because you’re working at Adams company, I mean why would I want to get mad because of that, whatever happened between I and Adams is all in the past and it shouldn’t affect your decision to work with their company, you deserve the best May and I’m glad you’re working with them because CLE is indeed one of the best company in the state, it’s also ranking top one so you should be proud and excited to work with them and you’re not serious too, how could you have kept it away from me in the beginning?” Alicia rolled herÂ

May finally released the breath she didn’t know she was holding. “I’m really sorry Alicia, I sincerely didn’t think you wouldn’t mind me working at his company.”Â
“Come on May, I’m not a child and I obviously can’t get angry because of that, even though I hate Adams, I won’t deny the fact that his company is really good at what they do so…” She trailed. “I’m not mad.”Â
May hugged her briefly. “Thank you so much Alicia, but me working at his company doesn’t make me hate him any less, he wronged you so much and my feelings about him haven’t changed a bit, I still don’t like him and even if I run into him atÂ
work, I won’t fail to show him that.”Â
“I bet he’ll be shocked to see you there.” Alicia chuckled. “But still, don’t bring personal matters to work, you just got this job May and it’s been your dream to work with a big renowned company, when you’re at work you should be professional and put other feelings aside please.”Â
“Yeah you’re right, I just hope I’ll be able to do that.”Â
“But I’m happy for you May, congratulations.”Â
May happily tapped her feet’s on the floor, she was just so excited about this job. “Thank you so much Alicia, we’re definitely going to celebrate this in a grand style, but first I want to get my first payment from the company, then I’m going to surprise both you and Diane.”Â
“I can’t wait and I bet Diane will be excited when you tell her about this, she did ask me earlier if you got the job and I told her we can only know when you get back.”Â
“Awwn, my baby is such a sweet girl, I’ll quickly go kiss her good night then go take a shower myself.” May said, then she stood up, she excitedly hugged Alicia once more before rushing upstairs.Â
Alicia decided to stay up for a little bit longer before retiring to bed.Â

Due to the excitement she felt, May couldn’t wait to officially resume working at the Carter Legacy Enterprises, she had left home so early and arrived at work thirty minutes earlier, on her way inside she bumped into Mike and one look at her had Mike crushing, he couldn’t even let her leave without talking to herÂ
They both stood outside the company having a little discussion and they were still talking when Mike noticed that Adams has arrived.Â

“Oh great, look who came early to work.”Â
May furrowed her brow in confusion, but she turned around just in time to see Adams making his way into the company along side his guards.Â
“You know that man?” She asked.Â
“Of course.” Mike replied proudly. “Not to brag, but I’m his best friend as well as manager, we’ve known each other since childhood. Adams Carter, CEO of Carter Legacy Enterprises.” He smiled.Â
“What? You’re his best friend!? Adams?”Â
“Err… Yeah.” Mike was a bit confused by her reaction, the look she gave him was more like she was judging him. “What’s wrong?”Â
“Nothing, I didn’t know you two were that close, that means you must know….” She trailed as she suddenly realize what she was about to ask. “Forget it, I have to go now.”Â
Before Mike could say anything else, she turned and hurriedly walked into the company, she was just starting to like him a little bit, but knowing he’s Adams best friend ruined the whole thing, for him to be friends with such a man, how’s she sure that he’s not like his best friend, after all, birds of the same feathers do flock together.Â
She mentally conclude to stay the hell away from Mike, she wants nothing to do with him now and she’s going to do her best in staying away from him, she’s here to work, nothing else!Â
As Mike watched her leave, he couldn’t understand what happened, he was so confused by her sudden change when he told her that he and Adams were best friend, normally people would be so surprised that he’s that close to the CEO but her reaction was different and he couldn’t tell why, he then began to wonder if she has something against Adams and now him.Â
He shook his head to clear off the negative thoughts he was starting to get, luckily he was able to get some information from her before this whole thing happened and he now knows the exact department in which she works.Â
Before going into the company, he kept it at the back of his mind to pay her a visit later, maybe he’ll get to find out what problem it was she has with he and Adams being best friends.Â
