Chapter 19 

Adams has just arrived home, he was about going to the bathroom to take a shower when his phone suddenly rang, he groaned then he frowned a little as he wondered who that could be. He first contemplated on ignoring the call and going to take his bath since he was super exhausted, but the phone kept on ringing and he ended up walking to where he kept his phone on his bed, he picked it up and was surprised to see it was his mother calling, he could already guess what she was calling him for and he would have ignored the call but knowing his mother, she’s not going to give up until he answers the damn phone, and that was what he did, he sighed deeply before picking the call. 

“Hello.” Adams said grumpily. 

“Adams, how are you son? How was your day at work?” His mother questioned, causing Adams to roll his eyes at her questions. 

“Why don’t you just cut to the chase already mother, you just interrupted me from doing something important.” 

“You know that’s no way to speak to your mother Adams.” She scolded. “No matter how angry you are never forget that I gave birth to you and I raised you, I’m still your mother Adams and I deserve that respect from you.” She sounded a bit pissed this time. 

“If you have nothing to say mom, I’m going to hang up now.” He was about disconnecting the call but his mother’s words stopped him. 

“Bianca informed me about her coming to your office today and how you treated her.” His mother hurriedly replied. 

Adams smirked, he just knew this was the main reason she called him. “So?” 

“What do you mean so? Can’t you see Adams? Bianca is trying so hard and you need to give her a chance.” 

“I didn’t ask her to do any of this mother, and I already made it clear to you, the only person who owns my heart still remains Alicia and it’s either her or no one else!” He stated. 

“You can’t be serious about this Adams, you and Alicia are divorced already and I’m so sure that she’s moved on with her life already so why won’t you just do the same and move on with yours, you claim she have a child and the child is yours, but there’s no way on earth that’s possible because Alicia was never pregnant for you, that child obviously belongs to someone else! She’s moved on, probably got remarried, which was a wise thing to do and have a child for whatever man she got married again too.” 

“None of your assumption is true mother, you can choose to believe what you want to believe and say whatever you want to say but that won’t stop me from pursuing Alicia, I don’t care if she’s with someone else, I want my ex–wife back and I’m not stopping until I get her back, so quit trying to pair me up with someone else because it’s not going to work.” 

“Adams you should-” 

“Please mother, enough is enough already, if you keep on doing things like this then I’m never ever going to take your calls again and you know me well mother, you know this isn’t an empty talk!” He hung up before his mother had the chance to say anything else, he stared at his phone for a while before throwing it on his bed once more. 

His mother’s words rang in his ears and he also remembered Alicia saying Diane has a father and he’s not the father of Diane but he choose to not believe any of those words and even if that was true, he’s still not giving up on her, nothing Alicia or anyone else says will make him leave her, he wants her back and he’s going to get her. 

He ruffled his hair before going to his bathroom 

Meanwhile, after the call with Adams, his mother was so furious, she literally couldn’t believe he also hung up on her. 

“I already told you to let him be didn’t I” Antonio, his father said. 

“Do you hear yourself Antonio? Let him be? Never! I want nothing but the best for our son and I’m doing everything possible to make sure I give him that but he’s still being stubborn and keeps going back to his ex wife!” She angrily stood up from the

chair she was sitting on. “I thought Alicia left the country for good so why the hell did she come back after so n and now she’s back to ruin our sons life once more! I don’t get why Adams is being so stubborn and won’t let that woman be, he should have gotten married to someone else years back but no he didn’t and it’s all because of that witch called Alicia, now I’m trying to get him together with Bianca and Alicia is still the obstacle in his path!” 

“Come on Bridget, if Bianca truly wants our son then she should be the one working hard and doing everything possible to get him for herself, there’s no need for you to get involved.” 

Bridget turned to look at her husband and the look she gave him was enough to send cold shivers down his spine, knowing his wife so well, when she’s the pissed, nothing anyone says or do will stop her from doing or getting what she wants. 

“I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that, if you’re not going to help in anyway possible then you should please leave me alone, I’ve been the only one doing things to ensure the happiness of our son and if you’re still not going to help or join me then please don’t try to stop me Antonio.” 

Mr Antonio sighed deeply. “Fine then, what do you want? What are you going to do about this because it already looks to me 

like you’ve got something in mind.” 

Mrs Bridget smirked. “Of course I’ve got something in mind, but first I need to contact our informat, I need every single information about Alicia Davis, where she stays, what she’s into, everything! I’m going to meet up with that woman and it’s not going to be a pleasant meeting.”
