Chapter 15
Adams walked into his room, he aggressively took off his tie, then he threw his briefcase on the sofa in his room, his entire mood has just been ruined by the damn dinner he had with his parents this evening and he’s been trying so hard to keep calm.
He was about going into the bathroom when his phone suddenly rang, he picked it up from his bed where he had threw it earlier, when he say it was Mike calling, he hurriedly answered the call.
“Hello Mike.”
“I’ve got the information you requested.”
“Wow, that was quick.” Adams replied in surprise.
“I know how important this is, that’s why I had to get it done today, and just so you know, it wasn’t easy getting all this
information, you owe me.”
Adams rolled his eyes at Mike’s words. “Fine, just tell me everything already.” He replied impatiently before taking a seat on
his bed.
Mike then began telling him all he knew about Alicia, the company she works at, her address and most places she’s likely to
visit.
“I’ll text you her home address and I also have some information regarding her daughter.”
Adams adjusted himself on his bed, from his reaction, it’s so easy to tell that he was eager to hear the information. “Go on, I’m
listening.”
“First, her daughter’s name is Diane and she’s five years old, she also just got enrolled in a school today, I’ll send the school
location too.”
Adams heaved a deep breath then a wide smile spread across his lips, this information alone had him all excited and he’s even forgotten about his anger earlier.
“Thank you so much Mike, I’m really grateful for the help, this means so much to me.”
“You don’t have to thank me Adams, I’m just doing my job as your best friend and manager, there might be no chance of you and Alicia getting back together, but the least you can do is try to gain her forgiveness.”
Adams nodded. “It might sound really selfish but I want both, not only do I desire to gain her forgiveness but I also want Alicia back in my life and this time, I’m never letting her go.”
“I hope it all works out for you, I’ll try to help in anyway I can.”
“Thank you so much Mike, a friend like you is rare to find.”
“I know.” Mike bragged. “I’ll text you the information now, please do take things slowly and don’t blow your chances away.”
“Advice noted.” Adams replied, then he hung up.
Few minutes later, his phone beeped, it was a message from Mike, Alicia’s home address, Diane’s school location, everything
was there
As Adams stared at his phone, he couldn’t stop smiling, now not only will he get to see Alicia, he’s also going to see his daughter, he strongly believe that Diane is his daughter, and he just can’t wait to finally meet her.
Next day….
Alicia could be seen running around her kitchen trying to get things done really quick, she’s got an important meeting in an

hour and she’s currently making lunch for Diane to take to school, she was so busy with what she was doing that she didn’t even notice when May walked into the kitchen.
May stood at the doorway staring at Alicia with a smile on her face. “Why don’t you just take things easy Alicia, you’re rushing too much.” She walked to where Alicia stood so she could assist her. “And you could have woke me up to get this done, I’ll be more than glad to do this.”
“I didn’t want to bother you May, you’ve done more than enough by moving down here with us already, and besides, I’m still giving you the welcome treatment.” Alicia winked, then she went to grab Diane’s lunch box.
“Well I already helped Diane take a bath and she’s ready for school, she’ll be down soon.”
Alicia heaved a deep breath of relief. “Thank you so much May, you’re the best!”
May was about saying something when the door bell rang, she and Alicia paused what they were doing and shared a confused look, they weren’t expecting anyone so they were wondering who that could be.
“Why don’t I go see who that is.” May offered. Alicia nodded.
When May left, Alicia went back to what she was doing, she grabbed an apple and began cutting it into tiny sizes, then she transferred them to Diane’s lunch plate.
“Alicia!” May urgently called as she rushed into the kitchen.
“What’s wrong May? And who’s that at the door?” Alicia asked and May suddenly went silent.
Alicia dropped the knife she was holding and a small frown appeared on her face as she stared at May. “What’s wrong? Who’s that at the door?”
“You’re not going to believe this but…” She trailed off, putting Alicia into more suspense.
“It’s Adams, your ex husband.” She said.
“What!?” Alicia blurted out in surprise. “Adams? That can’t be, how’s that even possible? How did he locate this place?” She asked. May shrugged.
“What are you going to do? Are you going to see him or should I ask him to leave, and mind you, I really don’t mind going back out there and asking him to leave, I so don’t like that man one bit and I’ll be more than glad to chase him out.” May
fumed.
Alicia shook her head. “It’s fine May, I’ll take care of this.” She took off her apron and agressively kept it on the table before
going out.
When Alicia opened the door and saw Adams standing outside, the first question she asked was…
“What the hell are you doing here Adams!?” She asked in annoyance.
While Alicia was clearly annoyed to see Adams there, he was overjoyed to finally get to see her once more and his excitement
was evident on his face.
Before Adams could say anything, he heard the most beautiful voice he’s ever heard, a voice that instantly melts his heart
when he heard it.
“Mommy” Diane called as she came to stand beside Alicia.
For the very first time, Adams got to see Diane in person and when the little girl turned to stare at him, his eyes widen at the striking resemblance, Diane has the features of both her mother and father, but there’s more of Adams when you look at her,
she’s also got his ocean blue eyes.
When Alicia saw the way Diane and Adams were both staring at each other, she nervously whispered
“Oh shit!
