“What do you think of Bianca?” Mrs Bridget asked, causing Adams to frown in confusion.
“What do you mean Mother?”
His mother sighed deeply, she wasn’t going to beat around the bush any longer and just go straight to the point.
“Okay Adams, I’m not going to beat around the bush now, the thing is…I want Bianca for you, I want you two to be together, it’s been so long now and-”
L “Excuse me?” Adams sharply cut her off, his face red with anger. “Did I ask you to do any of this mother? Did I ask you to get a woman for me? Why the hell are you doing this!? You called me over for dinner and I came thinking it was just a simple dinner with my parents, not knowing you had other motive behind your invitation.” He abruptly stood up. “If I had known that this was the reason you called me here then I wouldn’t have bothered coming in the first place, I have no time for all this nonsense, I don’t need you searching for a woman for me, I’m not a kid! He made to leave but his mother hurriedly stood up and went to hold his hand. “Please Adams, you haven’t told us what we did wrong, you’ve been so cold to everyone, even we your parents, I just can’t stand seeing you like this, you need a companion, someone to talk to, someone to be with you and be there for you, please Adams, Bianca is a really nice girl, she—”

“Please mother!” Adams yelled in annoyance, then he jerked his hand away from hers. “Just stop all this nonsense and I don’t need anyone in my life, I don’t need someone else in my life, the only person I need is Alicia!” He said with gritted teeth.
On hearing Alicia’s name, Mrs Bridget instantly flared up. “That barren cursed woman!” She yelled.
All this while, Bianca and Mr Antonio could do nothing but watch in silence. Mr Antonio wasn’t saying anything because he already warned his wife about this before she even thought of calling Adams, he knew Adams would never consent to this, and that was why he tried his best to stop his wife from doing all this but she was just too stubborn and wouldn’t listen to him, he had informed her earlier that he wouldn’t get involved in any of this and that’s what he’s doing, staying out of all this

His mother was silent for sometime as she tried to process everything, but no matter how hard she thinks about it, she just can’t seem to believe that Alicia was carrying Adams baby back then, she just can’t believe it.
“No Adams, I don’t believe any of what you’re saying to me right now, and even if she’s returned with a baby, how sure are you that the child is yours, do not forget that Alicia has been away for many years now, it’s so obvious that she must have moved on with her life because I see no reason why she wouldn’t do that, so that child you think belongs to you, or rather, you claim belongs to you isn’t yours Adams.”

Bianca was hurt by his words, but she covered it up with a smile instead.
“Why don’t you listen to your mother Adams, she loves and care about you a lot and all she wants for you is nothing but the best.”
Adams scoffed. “In essence, you think you’re the perfect woman for me isn’t it.” He stated.
“I don’t think Adams, I know.” Bianca replied seductively. “I heard about your ex wife and how she was unable to conceive and give you the child you wanted so badly, I know about everything that happened Adams.” She clicked her tongue. “It’s sad, but I’m here now and all I need from you is a chance Adams, just one chance to prove to you that I’m way better than your ex wife and more deserving of a man like you.” She tried touching him but Adams quickly grabbed her hand and held it so tight
