May placed her hand on Alicia’s shoulder and made Alicia face her. “Are you being serious?” She asked. Alicia sighed, then
she stood up and began pacing in front of May.
“You have no idea how seeing him was enough to ruin my precious evening, why the hell did he choose to show up now huh!?” She spat, her anger slowly rising once more, she balled her fist as she felt a strong urge to punch Adams right in his
damn face.
May stood up and went to pat her back. “Just try to relax okay, what was he even doing there?”
“He came to see me, he mentioned being sorry and wanting to make things right!” She replied in a sarcastic manner. “Yeah right, like it’s all so easy, I can’t believe the guts of that man! After all these years he shows up in my face and all he could say
was sorry! Sorry? Like one sorry from him could fix the whole goddamn thing, he has no idea of what I’ve been through and how he and his parents ruined things for me and made my life so miserable.” She raised her head up in order to prevent her tears from falling, in the past she told herself that she wasn’t going to cry because of Adams and his parents, she’s not about to break that promise now.
May looked her her with so much pity in her ears, she clearly understands what Alicia must be going through right now because when she met Alicia, she could clearly see that she was suffering so bad because it was so obvious, she was also able to tell that she needed someone and that was why she got close to Alicia in the first place, she was still pregnant with Diane then, it didn’t take too long for them to bond and they eventually became like sisters and were inseparable, she’s done so much for Alicia and her daughter and for all she’s done, Alicia will forever be grateful to her.
“Calm down now Alicia, everything is alright, don’t let him get to you, I wish I can see him myself and give him a big piece of my mind, I’m so going to curse the living hell out of him.” May fumed, equally feeling so angry.
“I warned him to stay away from me, but I know Adams, he might not back down.”
“Well you won’t back down either, if he keeps on bothering you then report him! In fact, take it to the media and let the world know what kind of a man he is, I’m sure as hell that’ll ruin his precious reputation, and don’t leave his parents out of it either, they deserve to get their own piece.”
Alicia looked at May and she didn’t even know when she burst into laughter, May surely have a way of helping her to relief her stress.
“You don’t mean that do you?” She asked while laughing.
May scoffed. “Of course I meant every single word and if you need help, you know I gat you baby, I’m with you every step of the way, knowing what he did to you, that isn’t enough punishment for the pain he and his parents caused you.” She sighed deeply. “But then…does he know about Diane?” She asked.
Alicia shook her head. “I don’t think so, he had no idea I was pregnant when I left.”
“But if he runs a check on you, he’s going to see that you have a daughter.” May stated, then she went to sit on the bed.
“I don’t care about that May, Diane doesn’t have a father, that man isn’t worthy of being called her father, and besides, Diane has never asked me questions regarding her father. Diane belongs to me alone, I am both her father and mother.” She replied protectively.
May nodded in understanding “I get it Alicia, and I wouldn’t want to upset you with what I’m about to ask, but I just want to know so please don’t take it to heart‘

Alicia furrowed her brow “What’s the question?”
May looked at her for a little while before speaking “What will you tell Diane if she eventually ask about her father? You know kids, sooner or later she’s bound to ask ”
Alicia didn’t hesitate to give May her honest reply “Her father is dead May, that’s the answer ” She stated with gritted teeth and one could easily tell that she meant every single word “If Diane ever ask me about her father than I will tell her that she

doesn’t have a father and that her father died a long time ago because that’s what I consider that man to and my daughter.” She added.
“I pray that day never come, but if it does, then that’s going to be my reply.”

May raised both her hands in surrender. “I won’t say anything more, I understand how hard everything was for you and it’s only right for you to feel that way but…” She trailed off. “Anyways let’s just forget about it, when we get to that bridge we’ll cross it.” She smiled.
“Yeah, now let’s just stop talking about that man, I’ve had enough of him for one night.” She heaved a deep breath, then she smiled brightly. “Diane will be starting her new school tomorrow and you’re coming with us.”
May stood up. “Absolutely, you don’t have to say that twice.”
“And let me guess, you already picked a room right?” Alicia asked and May chuckled.
“Of course.” She replied with an eye roll, then she kissed Alicia’s cheek. “I’ll see you tomorrow, goodnight.”
“Goodnight May.” Alicia replied with a smile.
“Just go to bed and don’t think of anything else.” May said before leaving.
When May left, Alicia simply went to lie on the bed, she forced herself to get all that happened tonight out of her head before finally going to sleep.
