Harlan trembled as he spoke. “She Mrs. Rivers was still here last night. She came back soaking 

wet from the rain and went straight upstairs. She told me not to disturb hier. How… how could she be gone?” 

Callum’s face darkened, nearly thunderous. 

“What has she been doing the past few days? And where are all her things?” 

Terrified, Harlan didn’t dare lie. He reported every detail of Evelyn’s recent behavior. 

“Mrs. Rivers has been in poor spirits lately. The first time, she came back alone with Miss Lily, both drenched in the rain. The second time, she returned after another downpour and came down with a high fever. Even the family doctor couldn’t help–she stayed in bed crying for three days, barely touched any food.” 

“The third time, Miss Estelle’s therapy dog bit her by accident. She went to the hospital for vaccines, but the injection site became infected. It festered and hurt for days.” 

“The fourth time, you punished her because of Miss Estelle. She’s naturally cold–natured, and after being drenched with those buckets of ice water, she would wake up shivering every night. The maids prepared ginger tea, but nothing worked.” 

“And the fifth time… she came back from the cemetery, holding an empty urn. She cried all night.” 

“But that morning, she suddenly changed. She smiled at us, greeted everyone like nothing had happened. She looked calm. Too calm.” 

Callum’s knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists. 

With a loud crash, he smashed the glass coffee table in front of him. 

Shards flew everywhere, slicing his palm open–but he didn’t even flinch. 

“Evelyn… where the hell did you go?” 

After a full sweep of the city, Callum’s eyes were cold enough to freeze water. 

Evelyn had erased her identity–no phone signals, no credit card records, not even a single trace on 

public transportation. 

Furious, he vented his rage on the security team. The head of them all, Vincent Hale, got the worst 

of it. 

But Vincent, the most capable among them, endured every blow without uttering a sound.

Finally, Callum’s assistant managed to retrieve satellite data, tracking Evelyn’s last known 

location. 

“Sir, she crossed into Norland, but… she used a smuggler’s route. No official entry record. Once she got there, she vanished.” 

Callum’s eyes glinted with frost. His voice was steely. 

“Go to Norland. Now.” 

He flew in with dozens of bodyguards. 

As soon as the plane landed, the entourage set out to scour the city. 

It was a brute–force method, but he was lose his mind–he just wanted to find her as fast as humanly possible. 

He walked aimlessly through unfamiliar streets. Every glimpse of a woman’s silhouette made his heart jolt. 

He was terrified–terrified that he’d lost her for good. 

She hadn’t just left. She had erased everything. That meant she’d made up her mind. 

She wasn’t coming back. 

Two days and nights passed. Callum didn’t close his eyes once. 

By the end of it, he collapsed into the hotel bed in utter defeat. For the first time in his life, he felt 

powerless. 

Regret consumed him. He had spent his life looking down on others, trampling on their dignity. 

Now, for the first time, he was paying the price for his arroganee. 

Evelyn was gone. 

The night deepened. His phone rang. 

Annoyed, he hit decline. 

But the ringtone wouldn’t stop. 

He glanced at the screen, sighing, and finally picked up. On the other end came a teasing voice. 

“Prince Callum Rivers, I heard you’re chasing some woman across Norland. Don’t tell me it’s that delicate little wife of yours?”

A laugh rang out. 

“Well, well. The king of the capital finally being humbled by a woman. This is rich-” 

“Enough.” Callum’s voice was ice. 

But just as he was about to hang up, the voice on the other end sharpened. 

“Wait! I know where she is!”
