Chapter 33 Have You Lost Your Mind
Emily worked faster on drying Gabriel’s hair, trying to end this silent torture sooner.
“It’s done,” she said.
She turned off the hair dryer and was about to leave when he grabbed her wrist.
With a forceful pull, he spun her around, and she landed on his firm thighs. Her back was pressed firmly against his burning chest.
“Gabriel, have you lost your mind?” she shouted.
But he didn’t care. He simply wrapped his arms tightly around her.
He rested his chin on her shoulder, breathing his hot breath against her neck. His voice had turned husky due to the desire burning within him.
“Emily, let’s have a baby,” he said.
Emily’s blood seemed to have frozen in that instant.
She let out a scoff and asked, “Have a baby?”
She turned her face, looking reluctant as she said, “Go have one with Amelia. I’m not interested in continuing the bloodline of the Holton family.”
Her cold rejection spoiled Gabriel’s fun in an instant. His eyes surged with bone–chilling anger, and he tightened his arms around her slender waist.
“Why do you always bring her up?”
His voice was dangerous and restrained.
“Emily, are you trying to remind yourself that you’re not comparable to her? Or are you reminding me…”
He paused before he uttered the most cruel words, asking, “Are you trying to remind me how you climbed into my bed back then?”
Emily’s mind went blank. Then, she used all her might to struggle and pushed him away.
After she broke herself free from his arms, she took a few steps back in a stagger, putting
some distance between them.
She steadied herself, breathing heavily as she replied, “Yes, I’m not comparable to her. I’m despicable and shameless. I plotted my way into your bed.”

She stared into his narrowed eyes and said the most hurtful things in the calmest tone.
“You’ve finally seen my true colors, and you feel disgusted, don’t you? If you feel so, why are you still not willing to divorce me?” she asked, carrying a faint smile in her voice.
Gabriel’s breathing got heavier. The anger raging in his eyes almost swallowed her whole.
“Emily, one second you want to get married, but the next you want a divorce.”
He clenched his fist so hard that his knuckles turned pale. “What do you take me for? A toy at your beck and call?”
As Emily looked at him, the indifference in her eyes was slowly replaced by an icy sneer.
“A toy?” She scoffed. “Gabriel, have you forgotten that I’m the one who’s being treated like a doll this whole time? I’m the perfect doll that you used to keep your family off your back, and a doll who would never complain about you fooling around with Amelia.”
As soon as she said that, she turned around and walked into her bedroom, closing the door
behind her and cutting the world out.
Gabriel was left alone in the living room. He stood in place and felt suffocated, as if there was something heavy weighing on his chest.
At midnight, Gabriel tossed and turned on the bed in the secondary bedroom. The unbearable itch all over his body was killing him.
Annoyed, he pulled the blanket off and got out of bed to turn on the lights.
His arms and his neck were covered in rashes, and they looked terrifying.
He then walked out of the bedroom and slept on the couch in the living room.
Soon after, the door to the master bedroom opened, and out came Emily, who wanted to get herself a glass of water.
With the help of the moonlight, she saw the tall figure cowering on the couch and wondered why he was there.
She took a few steps closer and saw his exposed arms under the dim light. They were fully covered in rashes.
She immediately understood what was going on, and she went back to her room to grab a tube of cream from her purse. 1
Chapter 13 Have You bet Your Mind

The cream was cooling, and she gently applied it to his burning skin with her finger.
Gabriel seemed to be incredibly restless in his sleep. His eyebrows were tightly furrowed, and he kept mumbling.
By the third time Emily’s finger brushed against his arm, he suddenly moved and grabbed her wrist. His grip was so strong that her bones were almost crushed.
Emily was in pain, and she wanted to break free from his grip.
In the next second, her world started to spin. He pulled her in, making her fall into his strong but burning arms.
“Don’t be scared,” he said in a husky and gentle voice that sounded incredibly sleepy.
