Chapter 14 His Desires for Her Body

Emily met Gabriel’s gaze and let out a wry laugh. Then, she bit Gabriel’s shoulder..

Gabriel was furious. Gripping her wrist, he was about to take advantage of her even further when his hand came in contact with blood

She had probably burnt herself when she knocked over the bowl of porridge earlier in the day. Because of how roughly he handled her, he aggravated her wound and caused it to bleed

His anger instantly subsided, and he immediately jumped off the bed. Emily wanted to make a run for it. But before she could move, Gabriel had returned with the burn ointment

He quietly held her wrist in place while he applied the ointment with his spare hand. Under the dim lights, he didn’t look as aloof as he usually was. Instead, his expression seemed oddly

gentle

Was it simply a trick of the light

She stared at the man before her. Gabriel was touching her as gently as possible to avoid causing her too much pain or discomfort

Which side of him was real? Was he the man who treated her solely like an outlet for his desires, or was he someone who currently seemed so much like a loving husband

Emily didn’t know what to think

After Gabriel helped her apply medication to her wound, he frowned, asking, Why didn’t you tell me you were in pain?”

He was back to speaking in a cold and aloof voice

Upon hearing this, Emily’s gaze hardened. Staring back at him, she spat, Why would I tell you? To gain your sympathy? Your sympathy and affection are reserved only for Amelia. Is that not true?”

His face instantly fell, and he subconsciously began to apply the ointment to her hand with more force than before. The pain made Emily inhale sharply

Gabriel let out a small laugh. You’re a lot more sharptongued than before, Emily.”

Despite his claims, he was now being more gentle than he was moments ago. On top of that, he even lowered his head to carefully blow at her wound

Emily’s heart skipped a beat. In that exact moment, she wondered if he actually cared for her

Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by Roman, who was frantically knocking on the door

to her room

Mr. Holton? There’s an emergency. MMs. Waverly is missing!”

Upon hearing this, Gabriel let go of Emily’s hand almost immediately. He sprang to his feet and swiftly marched out of the room

After his departure, the room fell silent once again. Emily stared at his back and felt an ache in

her chest

How could she have let herself hope? Gabriel would only lose his composure if something were to happen to Amelia. His small acts of kindness toward her were purely driven by his desire for her body

In the middle of the night, Amelia was situated on a remote, dimly lit street. On the opposite side of the street were two sleazylooking men

When Amelia caught sight of Gabriel from a distance away, she shot the men a look. Moments later, they began to approach her

The leader of the pair, a blond named Jackson Kirk, whistled in an exaggerated manner. Hi, sweetheart. Are you alone?”

Rubbing his palms together, the other man, Georgie, chuckled deviously. Then, he said in a loud voice, Where are you heading at this hour of the night? Do you want to have some fun with us instead?”

With a pitiful expression, Amelia wrapped her arms around herself in a defensive manner

WWhat do you want?she stammered

Jackson stretched out his hand and tried to touch her. Follow me, baby. Don’t worryI’ll take real good care of you.”

Before he could put his hand on her shoulder, he was knocked over. Shortly afterward, Georgie was also apprehended. As it turned out, Gabriel had come to Amelia’s rescue, and he’d brought some people with him

Amelia immediately threw herself into his arms. Trembling in fear, she cried, I thought I’d never get to see you again, GabeI just headed outside to help you buy some body wash. I didn’t think I’d run into these hooligans on the streets.‘

She continued, I think they mentioned thatDr. Sterling was the one who sent them to intimidate me. I think we should just go. If we do, maybe Dr. Sterling won’t pick on me anymore.”

Gabriel frowned. What did this have to do with Emily

Staring menacingly at the two men, he demanded, Who actually sent you?”

Jackson trembled in fear

It’s Emily Sterling! She’s the one who put us up to this!he exclaimed

Gabriel’s expression darkened even further. Are you sure? Lie to me, and you can expect to spend the rest of your life rotting in jail.”

After hearing Gabriel’s response, Emily began to inwardly seethe. Was he trying to protect Emily

She suppressed her anger and forced herself to shed a few tears

I agree. Dr. Sterling is probably not that kind of person. Even though I’m always spending time with you, Gabe, the most she’s ever done is berate me out of jealousy

I don’t think she’ll hire these hooligans to assault me. The two of you must be framing her.”

🌙 Part 1 — The Night of Exhaustion

It was 2 a.m. when Emily Sterling lay curled up on the bed, her body trembling from exhaustion. Her husband, Gabriel Holton, had just returned from a business trip after several days, and all his pent-up desire had exploded into wild intensity.
The floor was littered with used condoms — eight in total. Emily’s throat was sore from crying out, her limbs heavy like stone. When she whispered “Water,” Gabriel wordlessly helped her sit up and brought a glass to her lips.

💔 Part 2 — Beauty Beside a Stranger

Under the warm light, Emily gazed at the man she had married two years ago. Gabriel’s sharp, striking features glowed with confidence and power — the kind of man women fell for instantly. But to Emily, he was a mystery, both familiar and unreachable.
In that quiet moment, a thought bloomed in her heart: maybe it was time for them to have a baby — a child with both their blood. Maybe a baby could bring warmth to their cold marriage.

❄️ Part 3 — The Shattered Dream

Her daydream shattered when Gabriel’s deep, indifferent voice broke the silence.
“Remember to take your pills tomorrow.”
Emily froze, then forced a bitter smile. “Even with condoms, you’re still not reassured?”
Gabriel’s lips curled in mockery. “What do you think?”
His cold words stabbed through her chest, crushing what little hope remained. The tension hung heavy between them, until a sudden phone ringtone pierced the air.

📱 Part 4 — The Name That Killed the Silence

Emily glanced at the glowing phone screen — the name Amelia appeared.
Amelia Waverly. The woman everyone knew as Gabriel’s childhood sweetheart. They had grown up together, studied together, and when she returned from abroad, Gabriel personally appointed her as his secretary. Their connection was deep, their bond undeniable. Everyone whispered that Amelia was the true woman in Gabriel’s heart — not his wife.

Part 5 — A Call That Broke Her Heart

Gabriel picked up the call immediately. Amelia’s soft voice floated clearly through the quiet room:
“Gabe, I think I’m running a slight fever. Can you take me to the hospital?”
Gabriel’s voice softened, almost tender. “Sure. Rest for now. I’ll be there shortly.”
He hung up, his expression tight with concern. Emily’s fingers trembled under the blanket as she watched him hurry to dress. A wave of pain hit her.

🌧️ Part 6 — The Memory That Burned

Her mind flashed back to last year — when she had gone on a medical mission to the countryside. A disaster struck, and terrified, she had called Gabriel for help.
But instead of comforting her, he had mocked her for “overreacting,” hanging up coldly. That night, she had nearly died in fear — and he hadn’t cared.
Now, Amelia had a mild fever, and Gabriel was willing to rush out in the middle of the night. For Emily, it was clear: her husband had never loved her.

🕯️ Part 7 — The Jealous Wife

Driven by anger and pain, Emily threw off the blanket, ran to the door, and blocked Gabriel’s path. “It’s so late. Do you really have to go?”
Gabriel looked down at her, his eyes flat, unreadable. “You’re jealous?”
Emily bit her lip and nodded. “As your wife, shouldn’t I be?”
He smirked cruelly. “You’re not worthy of being jealous of Amelia.”
His words sliced through her soul. Without another glance, he turned the doorknob and walked out, slamming the door into her shoulder as he left.

🌪️ Part 8 — Left Behind in Silence

Emily stumbled backward and collapsed to the floor. The slam echoed like thunder in her mind. Moments later, she heard the roar of his car engine fading into the distance.
The room was now painfully quiet. The sheets still smelled of him, but the warmth was gone. She wrapped her arms around her knees, trembling, tears streaming endlessly.
For the first time, she admitted the truth — she had fallen into an abyss of her own making.

💧 Part 9 — A Fool’s Love

Emily realized she had always known this marriage was hollow. She had tried to fill it with love, patience, and faith, but Gabriel had only ever kept one woman in his heart — Amelia.
She was nothing but a placeholder, a name on a marriage certificate, a woman to share his bed but not his heart.
Still, she couldn’t stop the ache. Even in pain, she had loved him too deeply, hoping he might one day look at her with tenderness. That hope now turned to ashes.

🔥 Part 10 — The Final Blow

Just as her tears began to dry, her phone rang again.
It was her best friend, Mallory Prescott.
“Mills! Guess who I just saw — your husband! He’s got a woman in his arms, and they look real close. That bastard! Couldn’t he have gone to any other hospital? He came to yours! Is he trying to disgust you on purpose?”
Emily’s hand trembled as she listened. Her vision blurred with tears, not from surprise — but confirmation. Everything she had feared was real.
Gabriel hadn’t just left her alone; he had humiliated her completely.

That night, Emily Sterling realized it was truly time to leave — not just the house, but the man who had never once looked back.
