Chapter99
So, she paid to hype up the trending topics.
She wanted Harriet to think that Ellsworth’s tenderness
yesterday was still just him using her, still manipulating public
opinion.
Harriet wouldn’t suspect a thing, because this was Ellsworth’s usual tactic-he always made her clean up his messes.
But she hadn’t expected Ellsworth to mind.
After all, she was just using his usual methods-she was only
worried for him.
Staring at Ellsworth for a long while, Kelsey tentatively asked
with a smile, “Ells, I heard you transferred 10% of the shares to
Hara. Is that true?”
Ellsworth replied, “It’s true.”
Holding her knife and fork, Kelsey was stunned by Ellsworth’s
answer.
She looked at Ellsworth for a long time, seeing him still eating
as if nothing had happened, and forced a smile, “Ells, are you still going to divorce Hara? Or are you getting attached?”
After a thoughtful pause, Ellsworth finally looked up at Kelsey and said emotionlessly, “Kelsey, don’t ask about my affairs.
anymore. Don’t interfere.”
This time, Kelsey grew anxious and looked straight at Ellsworth, asking, “Then what about me? What about the promise you made to Sylvia?”
He had promised Sylvia he would take care of the Graham
family, take care of Kelsey, and treat her as if she were Sylvia.
She was still living with Sylvia’s heart-could he really give up the last thing that belonged to Sylvia?
Sylvia had saved his life.
Ellsworth looked at Kelsey’s anxiety with indifference.
Even though she and Sylvia were twins, with the same face and
the same appearance-
Even though she still carried Sylvia’s heart.
But she was not Sylvia.

Without answering Kelsey’s question, Ellsworth put down his
cutlery, picked up a wet wipe to clean his mouth and hands, and
said calmly, “I’ll take you home.”
Holding her cutlery, Kelsey looked up at Ellsworth-there was no warmth left in his eyes.
Seeing that he wouldn’t even look at her, Kelsey put down her cutlery and quickly regained her usual brightness. “Alright, it’s
getting late. I should head back.”
On the way back, Kelsey wisely didn’t bring up anything about
him and Harriet, chatting happily about work instead.
Now was a sensitive time, and it really wasn’t appropriate to
bring it up.
Even now, with all the attention, Ellsworth still came out to have
dinner with her-he must care about her.
And in the months since she returned, Ellsworth had taken good
care of her, both in life and in business.
She had to hold on.
Half an hour later, the car stopped at the Graham’s villa. Kelsey
got out and smiled at Ellsworth, “I’ll head in now.”
Ellsworth nodded and replied, “Mm.”
After watching Ellsworth’s car drive away, Kelsey finally turned
and went inside.

On the way back, Ellsworth rested both hands on the steering wheel, lost in memories of the past.
Back when Sylvia was still alive.
At that time, Harriet was still young, and he and Sylvia had already confirmed their relationship.
But it was just a relationship-there hadn’t been much progress
beyond that.
Soon, the car pulled into the yard. When Ellsworth returned to
the villa, Jacquelyn and the others were already asleep.
He went upstairs and opened the master bedroom door-Harriet
was already asleep.
Only a small nightlight was left on in the room.
Ellsworth unbuttoned two buttons of his shirt and bent down
beside Harriet.
At that moment, Harriet opened her eyes, saw Ellsworth in front
of her, and greeted him sleepily, “You’re back.”
She then asked softly, “The stock has stabilized, so my resignation shouldn’t have any more impact, right?”
Harriet looked lazy, and Ellsworth said softly, “Mm, it’s fine now, it’s all in the past.”
Hearing Ellsworth’s response, Harriet closed her eyes in relief and said in a soft voice, “Mm, then you should rest early.”
Her features were as delicate as a painting, her skin as smooth
as jade.
The soft light illuminated the room, casting a warm and lazy glow on her face.
Raising his hand to brush aside the stray hair on Harriet’s
forehead, Ellsworth said gently, “We just promised Grandma
last night that we’d have a baby this year, and tonight you went
to sleep without waiting for me?”
Without opening her eyes, Harriet replied in a calm voice, “That
was your promise, not mine.”
Last night at dinner at the Townsend’s mansion, Harriet had
tactfully avoided all of Tamera’s questions, never giving any clear answers.
Half-asleep, when Ellsworth leaned in to kiss her, Harriet raised her right hand and blocked him.
She didn’t let him kiss her.
Without opening her eyes, she just frowned slightly and said in
a flat voice, “You smell. Go take a shower.”
He was covered in Kelsey’s scent.
She had smelled it the moment he entered the room and came
close to her.
