Chapter46
Chapter46
At her suggestion, Ellsworth just looked at her expressionlessly,
as if she was saying something completely unreasonable.
After looking at her for a while, he said calmly, “So you’re
sentencing me to death, not even giving me a chance to
discuss it?”
Harriet blushed at his words, “No, that’s not what I meant.”
Feeling guilty, Harriet heard Ellsworth say coolly, “Go to sleep.”
Harriet quickly replied, “Okay.”
Ellsworth turned off the light, and Harriet slipped under the
covers.
With a small nightlight left on by the bed, Harriet turned to look
at Ellsworth, only to see him suddenly roll over and trap her in
his arms.
Startled, Harriet quickly pressed her hands against his chest
and reminded him, “Ellsworth, you promised me that after you finished your current projects, we’d get the paperwork done.”
Chapter46
Instead of pressing down on her, Ellsworth smiled and said, “My words are that effective? Then I say we’re not getting divorced.”
“…” Harriet protested, “How can you do this?”
She had already gotten the birth certificate from Grandpa and made up her mind to leave-how could he go back on his word?
Seeing Harriet’s disbelief, Ellsworth took her resisting hands
away, pinned them on either side of her head, and leaned down
to kiss her.
This time, Harriet wouldn’t let him kiss her. She turned her face
away.
Ellsworth was amused and said with a laugh, “If I really forced
you, could you resist?”
Then he ordered, “Turn your face back.”
Harriet didn’t listen. Instead, she turned her face even further,
burying her whole cheek into the soft pillow.
Harriet’s profile was beautiful, her skin fair and delicate, her
eyes still showing a hint of stubbornness.
It seemed… tonight, she was determined not to give in to him.
Chapter 46
Seeing her being stubborn, Ellsworth actually found it quite
amusing.
He held her wrists with both hands, but didn’t use force or try to
turn her face. He just leaned down and kissed her.
Then, as his gentle kisses fell on Harriet’s ear and neck, Harriet
held her breath, her brows furrowing tightly.
She didn’t dare open her eyes.
It tickled-everywhere tickled.
Ellsworth laughed at Harriet’s reaction.
Coming home… didn’t seem so boring after all.
He continued to tease and kiss Harriet, taking his time.
Trapped in his arms, Harriet kept trying to move away.
Finally, with nowhere left to go, she called out to him,
“Ellsworth!”
Ellsworth gently ordered, “Turn your face back.”
Harriet instinctively turned her face back.
Chapter 46
Immediately, she was stunned by Ellsworth’s face so close to
hers.
Their eyes met. After staring into Ellsworth’s eyes for a while, she kindly reminded him, “Ellsworth, if we really have a child, it won’t be so easy for you to get a divorce in the future.”
Ellsworth pinned her hands with one hand and smiled, “Who says we have to get divorced?”
With that, his other hand slid to her slender waist, pushing her
nightgown up.
But Harriet asked, “If you don’t get divorced, what about
Kelsey?”
He was still wearing a matching ring with Kelsey, and Kelsey
was still waiting for him. She didn’t want to deal with his
romantic entanglements anymore.
When Harriet brought up Kelsey, Ellsworth wasn’t angry. He just lectured her, “Why bring up another woman in bed? Harriet,
that’s not very smart.”
Looking into his eyes, Harriet said nothing.
It wasn’t that she wasn’t smart-she brought up Kelsey on

purpose.
But Ellsworth wasn’t affected at all. He didn’t get off her.
He held her hand with one of his, and with the other, slowly undid the buttons on her clothes.
Harriet turned her face away again, but Ellsworth didn’t mind. It seemed he was determined to have this child.
When Ellsworth’s kiss fell upon her once again, Harriet found herself unable to resist any longer.
She didn’t dare open her eyes to look at the time.
It wasn’t until Ellsworth was about to get serious that Harriet suddenly pushed him away, looking at him innocently as she said, “Ellsworth, I’m hungry.”
The atmosphere in the room was ambiguous. Ellsworth pinched her chin and smiled, saying, “Aren’t I feeding you right now?”
For a moment, Harriet’s face turned bright red.
What on earth was he thinking?
What she meant was that her stomach was hungry.
Chapter24
She hadn’t eaten dinner, and her stomach was empty.
With her face flushed, Harriet explained, “I mean I’m really
hungry. I didn’t have dinner tonight.”
Afraid Ellsworth would misunderstand, she made a point to
clarify that she hadn’t eaten dinner.
Staring at her without moving, Ellsworth thought Harriet was
just making excuses-she simply didn’t want to get pregnant,
didn’t want to have a child.
However, Harriet’s stomach cooperated by growling a few
times.
“…” Ellsworth.
Seeing the change in Ellsworth’s expression, Harriet struggled a
bit and said softly, “I’m really hungry.”
