When the group from Galaxy Innovations arrived, Alvin greeted them with a beaming smile. “Reginald, Jonas, Harriet, you’re
here! Come inside and cool off.”

After Reginald offered his congratulations to Alvin, Harriet and Jonas followed suit, unhurriedly offering their own well–wishes.
The house was lively, but most of the guests were in their
sixties or seventies–older, middle–aged folks.
Reginald was considered one of the youngest there, not to
mention Harriet.
They were just the juniors.
After the group politely congratulated Alvin, he introduced them
to his old friends and comrades with a big smile. “These are the
key technical staff from Galaxy Innovations.”

country’s future development will depend on these young
people.”
As Alvin introduced them to the senior guests, the group quickly
shook hands and greeted the elders.
Reginald was calm and composed, while Jonas was a bit more
polite–after all, these were people who often appeared on TV at
conferences.
Although Harriet had spent three years at the Townsend Group without attending any parties, she remained calm and unruffled
now.
She was poised, dignified, and steady.
Her black–and–white office attire was also very appropriate for
the occasion.
After Reginald finished greeting the elders, Harriet saw that both Reginald and Jonas were busy, so she went to the small sitting room and found a sofa to sit on.
There was a professional book on the coffee table. She asked the housekeeper if she could read it, and when the housekeeper
said yes, she picked it up and started reading.

Another group of guests arrived.
For a moment, the entrance was bustling.
Holding her book, Harriet looked up and saw Ellsworth arrive.
He had brought Kelsey with him.
From a distance, the two of them looked like a perfect match-
handsome and beautiful.
Ellsworth was in his usual suit, while Kelsey wore a cheongsam embroidered with gold thread, so stunningly beautiful that it
was hard to look away.
Their arrival immediately drew everyone’s attention and brought
the party to a small climax.
Even Harriet was looking in that direction.
“Ells is here.”
“Ells, how has your grandfather been lately?”
“You rascal, I haven’t seen you in years.”

Ellsworth listened to the elders greet him and responded to
each with a smile. “Thanks to you, my grandfather is doing
well.”
Then he turned to Alvin and said, “Sir Leach, my grandfather’s
old leg problem has flared up again. He asked me to come and
apologize on his behalf, and to bring this calligraphy painting as
a gift for you.”
The Townsend family was highly respected, and Ellsworth’s
grandfather was a prominent figure in Amberville, an old
acquaintance of the Leach family.
If it weren’t for his leg acting up, he would have come in person
today.
“I understand, I understand. He already told me on the phone.
That leg injury dates back to his days on the border–look at that,
decades have passed in a flash.” At this point, Alvin asked, “Is
this calligraphy your grandfather’s own work? If it’s not, I can’t
accept it.”
Ellsworth smiled and said, “Don’t worry, Sir Leach, it’s my
grandfather’s own handwriting.”
When Ellsworth confirmed it was Raymond’s own work, Alvin
quickly had the housekeeper put the calligraphy away.

In the small sitting room.
Harriet calmly watched the lively scene not far away, seeing
Kelsey smiling like a spring breeze as she gently held Ellsworth’s arm, graciously and elegantly staying by his side.
Harriet quietly withdrew her gaze, leaned back on the sofa, and
continued reading her book as if nothing had happened.
She had never taken part in Ellsworth’s social circles.
Almost none of the guests today knew about her relationship
with Ellsworth.
After all, the two of them had only registered their marriage and
never held a wedding banquet.
Not long after, Vicente returned and was immediately assigned
by Alvin to help greet the guests.
