At Kathie’s reminder, Harriet nodded. “I know.”

Ellsworth. He always seemed so clear–headed, so why was he

have Ken and Kat.” 

Though she said this, seeing Ellsworth take a few more lashes, his lips turning pale, her heart ached. 

Tamera’s heart softened in the end. 

Turning around, Tamera took Harriet’s hand and pleaded, “Hara, 

please talk to your grandfather. He only listens to you, and Ells 

is already half dead. This beating will surely wake him up and 

make him understand.” 

As Tamera finished speaking, Patsy also turned to look. 

Though she said nothing, her eyes were full of pain.
