Chapter118
Chapter118
Hearing Reginald’s reasoning, Harriet laughed and joked, “I
didn’t expect Mr. Barton to be a student of philosophy as well.”
Reginald listened and asked Harriet, “Harriet, you aren’t trying to
persuade me to let Rushtar Group join the project, are you?”
Harriet replied, “That’s not what I mean. Mr. Barton, you’re the
boss. The decisions at Galaxy Innovations are yours to make.”
As for what Ellsworth would choose-whether to leave Rushtar
Group behind or give up working with Galaxy Innovations-that
was his own business.
Harriet didn’t plead, and Reginald was actually pleased.
If she didn’t even have that bit of backbone and resolve, there
would be no reason to keep her at Galaxy Innovations.
When the elevator reached their floor, Harriet returned to her
office for a short while, then went to the lab with Jonas and the
others.
By the time she finished in the lab and got home, it was already ten o’clock at night.
Chapter 118
Jacquelyn hadn’t gone to bed yet and had been waiting for her.
Seeing Harriet return, Jacquelyn greeted her with a beaming
smile, “Mrs. Townsend, you haven’t had dinner yet, have you? I’ll
go heat up the food.”
Changing her shoes, Harriet said, “Jacquelyn, I’ve already eaten.
Don’t trouble yourself, you should rest early.”
Jacquelyn replied, “Alright, Mrs. Townsend, if you get hungry
later, just call me.”
Harriet smiled and agreed, then went upstairs.
However, when she reached her bedroom and tried to open the
door, she found it locked. She pushed hard a few times but
couldn’t get it open.
Turning back downstairs, she found Jacquelyn to ask about it.
Jacquelyn replied apologetically, “Mrs. Townsend, Mr.
Townsend asked for the door to be locked. He has the key, and
he came home early tonight.”
After hearing this, Harriet said nothing more and went back
upstairs to knock on Ellsworth’s bedroom door.
Hearing his lazy voice say, Come in, Harriet finally opened the

door and walked in.
Dressed in dark gray pajamas and holding a book while leaning against the bed, Ellsworth looked up at the doorway and greeted her nonchalantly, “You’re back.”
Standing at the doorway, Harriet didn’t go further in. She said,
“My door is locked.”
This time, Ellsworth didn’t look up at Harriet. He kept flipping through his book and said unhurriedly, “Mom came by tonight
and asked how we’ve been lately.”
Before Harriet could respond, Ellsworth finally looked up at her
and said gently, “I had Jacquelyn and the others bring all your
things over.”
After Ellsworth finished speaking, Harriet looked around the
room and saw that all her personal items had been brought
over.
The few clothes she had were also hanging in his closet.
Letting out a soft sigh and seeing Ellsworth still reading, Harriet
went to the closet to get a change of clothes and went to
shower without saying a word.
Chapter 118
A short while later.
When she came out of the bathroom, Ellsworth was still reading and hadn’t brought up anything about the project.
Since Ellsworth didn’t mention it, Harriet certainly didn’t ask.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, she dried her hair with a towel and gently suggested, “The resignation matter should be over
now. I’ll transfer the shares back to you.”
Listening to Harriet, Ellsworth flipped through his book, glanced at her nonchalantly, and said in a calm voice, “I’m not in a hurry,
so why are you?”
After Ellsworth finished speaking, Harriet slowly dried her hair,
just looking at him like that.
He really wasn’t worried at all, not the least bit afraid that she
might have any ulterior motives.
He wasn’t afraid she would sell her shares and run off with the
money.
Harriet stared at Ellsworth motionlessly for a while. Seeing that
he said nothing more, she got up and went to the bathroom,
used the hairdryer to blow her hair again, and then quietly sat

down on her side of the bed.
Picking up her professional book from the side, Harriet hadn’t even opened it when Ellsworth turned to look at her and asked casually, “Went to look at houses?”
As soon as Ellsworth finished, Harriet was taken aback, then
turned her face to look at him.
She stared at Ellsworth intently, only to see that he showed little emotion, as if he hadn’t guessed her real reason for wanting to buy a house-he was just asking in passing.
Blinking, Harriet thought to herself that Johnathan must have
seen her at the agency that day.
In fact, she had seen Johnathan that day too, saw him helping a
girl with some business.
She had considered whether to go over and say hello, but
seeing that Johnathan hadn’t noticed her, she decided not to.
After getting the information she wanted, she left first.
