Chapter104
Chapter104
After smiling, he said, “Proud.”
With Ellsworth’s cooperation, Kelsey felt awkward.
But she had no choice but to smile and echo, “With a friend like
Hara, I’m proud too.”
Ignoring the two of them, Harriet lowered her head and
continued scrolling through her phone in silence.
She hadn’t intended to snap at Kelsey, but since every word
from Kelsey was laced with malice, trying to smear her and
Reginald, she certainly wasn’t going to show her any courtesy.
-Soon, the car stopped at the entrance of the Graham’s villa. After Kelsey greeted them and went inside, Ellsworth looked at
Harriet in the rearview mirror and said, “Come sit in the front.”
Harriet kept her eyes on her phone and replied coolly without looking up, “No, thanks. The seat’s too hot.”
“…” Ellsworth.
Since Harriet was unwilling, Ellsworth didn’t force her. He simply

drove back to Auburn Heights.
On the way back, Harriet kept scrolling through her phone, not
looking at Ellsworth, and unlike before, she didn’t try to start a
conversation with him.
By the time they got home, Jacquelyn and the others were
already asleep.
Once inside the bedroom, Ellsworth received a phone call, and
Harriet took her clothes and went to the bathroom.
Back when he had just returned and they were forced to share a
room, she would disinfect the bathroom after every shower.
Now, she couldn’t be bothered. If he wanted to use it, he could;
if he didn’t like it, he could use another bathroom.
She wasn’t going to cater to him anymore.
Even if he had carried her out of a burning building, she would
repay the favor if she could, and if not, there was nothing she
could do.
In every aspect, she had already given up.
A short while later, when Harriet came out of the bathroom,
Chapter104
Ellsworth had already showered in another room and changed
into his pajamas.
Seeing Harriet’s expressionless face, not even glancing at him,
he asked, “Did you eat gunpowder today?”
Usually, even if others upset her, she would just keep quiet and
process it herself, rarely fighting back.
But today, she had fought back.
At Ellsworth’s question, Harriet nonchalantly opened her laptop
and said with a straight face, “She can provoke anything she
wants, but she can’t make jokes about my work or talk about
me and other men. That’s how she relies on you, but that’s not
how I got into Galaxy Innovations.”
In the morning, when Kelsey flaunted her relationship with
Ellsworth in her office, Harriet had ignored her.
But when it came to talking about her and Reginald, Harriet
wouldn’t stand for it. She wouldn’t let herself be smeared for no
reason.
With Harriet so serious, Ellsworth walked up behind her, bent down, and placed his hands on the desk, trapping her in his arms. He leaned in close to her ear and asked flirtatiously, “Are

you jealous?”
“Not really.” Harriet opened a file, then turned to look at
Ellsworth and reminded him, “My next work is a bit confidential.
Could you give me some privacy?”
Ellsworth said, “Harriet, do you know what time it is? You’re
still working?”
Harriet turned back, opened her laptop, and said unhurriedly,
“The fact that I got into Galaxy Innovations through normal channels is already being twisted. If I don’t work hard and achieve something, and people start saying there’s something improper between me and Reginald, Ellsworth, your reputation
will suffer.”
Grabbing Harriet’s chin, Ellsworth made her look at him.
-“Harriet, how come I never noticed you were so sharp-tongued
before?”
Harriet brushed his hand away. “Give me some space, I need to
work.”
Ellsworth didn’t leave, just looked at her with amusement and said, “The internet and the computer are both ours. Why should I leave? If I wanted to steal Galaxy Innovations’ technology, your
lab couldn’t stop me anyway.”
Chapter104
At Ellsworth’s words, Harriet just looked at him in silence.
They stared at each other for a moment, then Harriet turned
around and quietly started working.
In fact… her work wasn’t confidential. She just didn’t want
Ellsworth getting close to her or being ambiguous with her.
Even though she hadn’t said anything about him and Kelsey,
that didn’t mean she could accept this version of Ellsworth. She couldn’t just pretend nothing had happened while he ran around helping Kelsey, acted like a couple with her in public, and sat
side by side with her in the front seat, leaving Harriet alone in
the back.
She couldn’t accept this kind of Ellsworth, wouldn’t go along
with his promises to Tamera, and wouldn’t have a child with
.him.
She just couldn’t do it.
Behind Harriet, Ellsworth didn’t leave.
When his breath brushed against her face, Harriet wiped her face and said coolly, “Ellsworth, go do your own thing. You don’t
need to watch me.”
