Chapter 25
The message had been sent a long time ago, and Nathan never replied.
It wasn’t until that afternoon when Scott took Pamela to visit in person that Nathan had already brewed a pot of tea.
Scott led Pamela inside and said to Nathan: “Nathan, this is my fiancée, Pamela.”
After the introduction, he turned to look at Pamela and said: “This is Nathan, my dad’s friend.”
Nathan paused for a moment looking at Scott’s side, then led them to sit on the guest sofa.
He poured two cups of tea and placed them in front of Scott and Pamela.
Nathan smiled kindly and said: “First time meeting, I’m afraid I haven’t been a good host. Please bear with me.”
Scott replied humbly: “Not at all, Nathan. It’s our fault as juniors to have you pour tea for us.”
Nathan laughed heartily and looked at Pamela beside Scott.
Scott, worried that Nathan might misunderstand, explained: “Pamela is a bit shy…”
Nathan didn’t seem to mind and just advised Scott: “Since Pamela isn’t in good health, she should take it easy. Take good care of her.”
After chatting for a while, just before leaving, Nathan seemed to have something to say to Scott in private.
Pamela noticed and said with a smile: “I’ll wait outside.”
After she left, Nathan took out the medicine he had given Scott last time: “Remember to take your medicine. Only when you’re in good spirits can you take good care of her.”
Scott took a few pills right in front of Nathan, then thanked him and accepted the rest.
Back in the car, while Pamela wasn’t looking, Scott hid the medicine just like last time.
Pamela looked at him curiously: “What did Nathan say?”
Scott didn’t want to worry Pamela, so he didn’t mention the medicine and casually replied: “Nothing much. Just told me to take good care of you.”
When the car was halfway home, Scott suddenly said: “Pamela, do you want to go back to our middle school and take a look?”
“I heard the street food stall we used to go to has been upgraded. I wonder if the taste has changed.”
At this, Pamela seemed to perk up, her eyes instantly brightening: “Sure! It’s been so long since we last went back.”

But unexpectedly, as soon as they got out of the car near the school, Scott saw a familiar person Kim also saw them and came over to say hello. Scott instinctively took Pamela’s hand.
Just like in their school days, Kim immediately greeted Scott.
“Scott, long time no see.”
Scott smiled slightly and greeted Kim with Pamela.
“It has been a long time.”
–
Kim!
Kim seemed to completely ignore Pamela. Seeing that Scott had nothing else to say, she continued: “How long are you planning to stay in Blood Pack this time?
We could grab a meal if you have time.”
“After all, we’re high school alumni.”
Scott noticed Pamela’s expression had darkened; she was clearly averse to everything from the past, including people and things.
He stated bluntly: “Let’s talk when I have time next time. Right now, I’m taking my fiancée to dinner.”
Kim looked surprised and probed: “You actually have a fiancée!
Then… have you let go of the past?”
Scott smiled, flashing his engagement ring with eyes overflowing with love and happiness.
“Yeah, not just letting go of the past, but building our future together.”
Then Scott added, “Since my fiancée’s here too, maybe you…”
He’d meant to suggest Kim greet Pamela since they were alumni who’d crossed paths before.
Suddenly remembering Kim had pursued him relentlessly for three years in high school…
He instantly fell silent.
Scott tightened his grip on Pamela’s hand, as if pouring reassurance into her through their clasped palms.
Needing her to know his heart belonged solely to her.
Through past, present, and every tomorrow yet unwritten.
