Chapter 20

Scott froze for a moment, his heartbeat accelerating uncontrollably.

He asked in a hoarse, low voice: “You…”

Before he could finish, Pamela pushed him straight into the bathroom: “Go wash up first.”

“Quit smoking from now on. I’m a patient, don’t make me breathe secondhand smoke.”

Scott, pushed into the bathroom, noticed her cheeks and ears turning red as Pamela closed the door.

He thought she’d grown bolder after ten years apart, but she was just forcing herself.

Scott chuckled.

When he emerged after washing up, Pamela was stubbornly fighting sleep while waiting for him, eyelids drooping then snapping open repeatedly.

Seeing this, Scott lay down and pulled her into his arms.

“Stop forcing yourself. Sleep if you want to…”

The moment he spoke, he realized the person in his arms was already asleep.

A quiet, warm tenderness filled Scott’s heart. At this moment, he felt unprecedented contentment.

He kissed Pamela’s forehead lightly before drifting into deep, peaceful sleep.

But when he woke the next morning, the other side of the bed lay empty.

Ginger Tabby and Pamela had both vanished!

Panic flashed in Scott’s eyes. He bolted upright, rushing barefoot from the bedroom.

Only when spotting the figure in the kitchen did his furrowed brow relax with a deep exhale.

Scott approached Pamela from behind, watching her bustle around preparing breakfast.

Mimicking her gesture from last night, he wrapped his arms around her waist: “Didn’t I say leave housework to me?”

“Otherwise what’s the point of having me as your boyfriend?”

Pamela laughed at his mock-complaining tone.

She untied her apron and looped it around Scott’s neck, nudging him forward: “Your turn then.”

Hearing her request, Scott fastened the apron contentedly and began cooking naturally like a househusband.

Chapter 20

During breakfast, Scott suddenly produced a travel guide.

Smiling at Pamela, he asked: “We’ve never traveled together. Want to go somewhere with me?”

Pamela instantly understood, raising both hands: “Absolutely!”

Scott knew she’d agree-the Pamela he remembered thrived on curiosity and new sights.

He recalled how she’d handmade a personal scrapbook of dream destinations before their fallout in tenth grade.

A memory he’d personally torn to shreds during twelfth grade.

Scott masked his emotions, sliding the guide across the table to Pamela.

“See if anywhere catches your eye?”

Pamela nodded, flipping pages until pausing at a vibrant spread.

Pointing, she asked: “Artisan Village. Want to go?”

Scott glanced casually. Any destination sufficed so long as she stood beside him.

“Okay.”

After hours airborne, they finally arrived at Artisan Village from Blood Pack.

Stepping off the plane, a wave of heat engulfed them.

The temperature starkly contrasted April in Blood Pack.

Their booked hotel had dispatched staff for airport pickup. Upon reaching the front desk for check-in.

Pamela suddenly blurted out to Scott.

“Wouldn’t it be… inappropriate to share a room?”

Scott finished filling the form and took her hand with an adoring smile.

“But I am your boyfriend!”
