“Leave with nothing?”
I stared at Scott’s face filled with arrogance, suddenly realizing these three years had been a ridiculous joke.
“Scott, are you sure?”
“Absolutely.” He sneered. “Everything you have was given by me. I can take it back anytime.”
Amanda timely entered, holding a cup of hot milk.
Softly, she coaxed, “Mr. Lopez, Sister Kimberly, please don’t fight. Couples shouldn’t hold grudges overnight.”
She handed me the milk. “Sister Kimberly, your legs aren’t well. Have some warm milk. Don’t ruin your health with anger.”
Her fingertips “accidentally” brushed my hand, her eyes flashing with victor’s pride.
I eyed the milk without taking it.
Scott impatiently snatched it and shoved it into my hands.
“Amanda’s being kind. Don’t be ungrateful.”
Clutching the cup, my gaze fell on the delicate platinum bracelet around Amanda’s wrist. Its pendant was a tiny mint leaf.
The very design I’d admired at last week’s auction. Scott had called it “too childish” for me then.
Turns out it wasn’t unsuitable for me–he’d already planned to gift it elsewhere.
I raised my hand and flung the entire cup of milk onto Amanda’s pristine white dress.
“Ah!” Amanda shrieked, stumbling backward in disarray.
Scott exploded. He shoved me hard, sending me staggering several steps until my back slammed against the icy wall.
“Kimberly, have you lost your mind?”
He ripped off his suit jacket, urgently wrapping it around Amanda with a tenderness I’d never heard. “Did it burn you?”
Amanda trembled in his arms, crying like a rain–drenched pear blossom.
“I’m fine… Mr. Lopez, don’t blame Sister Kimberly. She’s just upset.”
Bracing against the wall, I watched them coldly.

“Scott, take her and get out. Now.”
“Or I can’t promise what I’ll do next.”
“How dare you!” Scott roared. “Kimberly, apologize to Amanda!”
“Apologize?” I laughed bitterly. “To her?”
“Fine! Perfect!” Scott’s anger twisted into a grim smile.
He snatched his phone, dialing his assistant. “Notify legal. Draft divorce papers. All assets to me. She leaves with nothing!”
“Plus, compile evidence that Kimberly stole company secrets for competitors. I’ll bury her reputation across New York!”
He hung up, his gaze predatory. “Kimberly, you brought this on yourself.”
“Let’s see how this cripple survives without me or the Lopez family’s protection.”
A triumphant smirk curled Amanda’s lips.
I merely met his eyes, speaking word by word.
“Scott, you’ll soon learn exactly who can’t survive without whom.”
