Chapter39Â
Isabella lowered his head in embarrassment and said in a trembling voice, “Harper… I–I’m sorry. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have treated you like that. I was too jealous. It’s my fault.”Â
As they were talking…Â
She actually slapped herself. Harper was so frightened that he took a step back. He looked at Mason in confusion. “…What does this mean?”Â
“I don’t mean anything. I just want to warn them not to attack you again.” Mason put down his wine glass and said, “If I kill you, what else can I do?”Â
Hearing his words, Harper actually heaved a sigh of relief.Â
Mason stood up and sneered. “Get out.”Â
Isabella did not dare to stay for more than a second. He ran out dejectedly. Harper wanted to follow him. Mason turned around and said, “Ethan said that you’re engaged to James?”Â
This time, it was official. He had even put on the ring and was circling Harper’s finger. At the mention of James, her expression became sweeter. How could she know how annoying that expression was to Mason? “Yes, the wedding is set for next spring.”Â
Was he that happy?Â
Marrying such a mediocre and useless man, was this what Harper wanted?Â
Mason was disgusted by her smile. He quickly walked over and snatched the violin from Harper’s back. “You want to get married and pick up the violin again? Dream on.”Â
The zither landed.Â
‘It was broken by the fall.’James had bought it for her.Â
Harper wanted to pick it up, but Mason pulled her and threw her into the sofa. The ring on her hand also fell off. She gritted her teeth and endured so many humiliations and scoldings. Only this time, she was a little agitated. She waved her hands and feet and snatched her ring.Â
That was given to her by James. She could not lose it.Â
“Give it back…” Harper begged. “Mason, please give it back.”Â
‘How much is this ring?”Â
It should not exceed a million. Didn’t she once say that Lily wanted the most expensive antique ring and wanted him to buy it for her? Why was she wearing a cheap ring in the blink of an eye?Â

She had completely forgotten about it. Mason tightened his grip on the ring. “No, it’s Mason.“He covered his wound and ran out of the clubhouse. The mud from the private car splashed on his body. Isabella stood in the rain, and the at- mosphere was humiliating.Â
How could Mason treat her like that for Harper?Â
As he was thinking, James walked over from the car. He was in a hurry to look for Harper. When he found out that she had been taken away, he was afraid that Sophia and the others would take revenge again. He abandoned his work and rushed over.Â
“James.”Â
Isabella hid the wound on his hand. “Are you here to look for Harper?”Â
James looked at her suspiciously.“She’s in Room 306, alone with Mason.”Â
As soon as he said that, James rushed in without thinking.Â
Isabella wiped the water off his face and smiled smugly.Â
He rushed to 306 and pushed open the door. It was very dark inside, but Harper was lying on the sofa with his hands tightly held by Mason. No matter how one looked at this scene, it would cause a misunderstanding.Â
James no longer maintained his gentlemanly demeanor. He rushed forward and punched Mason hard in the face. He fell back into his seat. Harper took the opportunity to get up and run away. He hid behind James. He still wanted to rush forward, but Harper pulled him back. “Don’t do it. I’m fine.”Â
But it was too late.Mason wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. His face was entangled in the dark, as if he had predicted all of this. He was waiting for James to make a move and kick him out.Â
The punch landed.Â
He had achieved his goal.Â
Heavy rain poured down, and lightning flashed and thunder rumbled.Â
Ava paced anxiously at the window. After thinking about it repeatedly, he knocked on the door of Liam’s study.Â
“Tell Harper to come up. She’ll get sick standing in the rain.”Â
Liam did not even lift his eyelids. He did not look like he had once been Harper’s father. “She and James offended Mason. I asked her to come up because I was going against Brooks family.”Â
“What kind of father are you?”Â

“I’m not her father.” Liam closed his pen cap. “Go down and tell her to leave as soon as possible, or I’ll get someone to chase her away.““You…”Â
