會

Jas chers

This kind of humiliation couldn’t hurt Harper anymore.

He threw the coffee cup.

Ethan took a step forward and grabbed Harper’s arm, “Since you want to climb so badly, how about I take you there?”

Before coming back, Harper had thought of it. They would never let her go.

In their eyes, she had caused Olivia’s death. She deserved to pay with her life, but since she was still alive, a living hell was her destiny.

-On a cold night, as the city of Moridise was lit up with dazzling lights and overflowing with glamour, Harper fol- lowed Ethan into the door of “Ceriasie.” He was a regular here. As soon as he entered, a waiter took his car keys and coat and led him into his long-term private room. Harper walked behind him, like an invisible person.

But when she was led through that door, she became the center of attention.

However, those gazes, more or less, were tinged with a desire to see a show. The dazzling lights shone on her face. and Harper instinctively lowered her head to avoid them. She could escape the light, but not the mocking and scornful words.

“Ethan, who’s this? Why don’t you introduce her?”

Ethan didn’t need to speak, as someone else chimed in, “Are you blind? Don’t you recognize Miss Walker?”

The identity and respect she had worked so hard to maintain in the past had now become a double-edged sword, cut- ting back at Harper herself.

Ethan threw himself into the sofa and shouted loudly for Harper, “Just right, today we’ll have a welcome party. Come

on-”

In the fleeting light, Ethan silently gave a signal to the group in the shadows. They understood his meaning. Wasn’t it just about getting someone drunk and playing tricks on them?

It was their specialty.

The voice in the microphone was noisy, and the clearest one was Ethan’s. His tone was high-pitched as he urged, “Mason, come to Ceriasie. There’s a good show to see.”

Mason finished his socializing, walked out of the hotel, and was met with a gust of cold wind. He loosened his tight tie with a gesture and showed little interest in Ethan’s good show.

“No time, not going.”

Ethan had anticipated his refusal. “It’s a good show with Harper as the leading lady. Don’t you want to see it?”

Chapter 11

1248 Pouchers

The driver opened the car door for Mason. He bent down to get in, pressed his temples, and accepted the invitation. “Alright.”

The car headed toward Ceriasie.

By the time they arrived, half an hour had passed. During this time, under Ethan’s direction, Harper had become the target of everyone’s attention. Supposedly a welcome party for her, it was nothing more than everyone taking turns to force her to drink. With an average tolerance for alcohol, a few glasses left her stomach feeling like it was on fire, and if she drank more, the fire would burst out and turn her to ashes.

Her throat was dry and sore.

Some people, holding glasses of liquor, pinched her chin and poured a high-proof drink down her throat. She was pushed down, and the alcohol was coughed up from her mouth, soaking her face and hair, which clung to her face. The liquor flowed down her neck, dampening her skin and dirtying her collar, which became wet and messy.

The light stopped flickering and fixed overhead, amplifying Harper’s ugliness and disheveled state by a hundred per-

cent.

When Mason walked in, that was the scene he saw.

The once proud and unapproachable young lady had become a plaything in everyone’s hands, pushed down, forced to drink, and with everyone in the private room raising their phones to record this “sacred” moment.

A woman who was once out of reach had fallen to the dust, becoming an object of ridicule for everyone. It was a memorable moment for anyone..

Mason paused slightly at the door.

Amidst the mocking laughter, someone noticed him and kicked the leg of the person forcing Harper to drink. “Brother Mason’s here.”

“Perfect timing.” The person laughed and brought another bottle of alcohol. “Let Brother Mason have a go. It’ll be so satisfying. We’ve been wanting to take her down a notch, haven’t we?”
