Chapter 41. 

Eloise was scrolling through her phone, her finger almost poking a hole in the screen. 

Charlotte didn’t dare say a word. 

Eloise scrolled in silence for a while, then suddenly stood up:”No, I have to go talk to Christopher and make things 

clear!” 

Just as she spoke, the doorbell rang. 

Charlotte walked over and peeked through the peephole, instantly startled:”Eloise, I think it’s Mr. Foret.” 

Eloise gritted her teeth:”Perfect timing, open the door!” 

But as soon as Charlotte opened the door, more than a dozen bodyguards in black rushed in behind Christopher and immediately pinned Charlotte down. 

‘Christopher, I have something to tell you… mmph!” 

Eloise was also restrained, but unlike Charlotte, her mouth and nose were covered. 

A pungent smell rushed into her nose and mouth. At first, Eloise struggled desperately, but soon she went limp and collapsed softly to the floor. 

Charlotte’s face turned as white as paper from fear. Christopher’s expression was cold as ice; he shot her a frosty lance:”I’m here for someone. You’d better keep quiet.” 

Several men in black quickly entered the apartment and searched every room. 

When they came out, they all reported, “Mr. Foret, madam is not here.” 

Christopher furrowed his brow:”She has no relatives or friends in San Francisco. Other than Eloise’s place, where lse could she go?” 

He turned, looking down at Charlotte, who was pinned to the floor:”You tell me.” 

Charlotte had never seen such a scene before. Terrified, she shook her head repeatedly: “I really don’t know.” Christopher slowly walked in, sat down on the sofa, crossed his legs, and played with a lighter in his hand:”My wife came here with Eloise. Wherever she went, she couldn’t have not told Eloise. And you are Eloise’s 

Assistant…” 

He paused, his gaze icy:”If my wife suffers even the slightest harm out there, I can’t touch Eloise, so I’ll have to take 

it out on you.” 

Charlotte was already in tears:”Mr. Foret, I really don’t know.” 

“Very well,” Christopher stood up and signaled to the men in black:”Then call the police. The actress Eloise has abducted my wife, and now my wife is missing. I suspect they’ve kidnapped her. Let them spend a few days at the police station first!” 

Charlotte immediately begged for mercy:”No, Mr. Foret, Eloise is a public figure, she can’t go to the police 

station!” 

Take them away!” 

‘No, please, I’ll talk!” 

Christopher looked at her for a long moment, then signaled the men in black to release Charlotte. 

She took an old-fashioned phone out from a drawer under the coffee table and dialed a number. 

The call was quickly answered:”Eloise?” 

“Rosalind, it’s me, Charlotte…” 

“Charlotte, is something wrong?” 

“I…” 

Just as Charlotte was about to speak, Christopher snatched the phone away. 

He pressed the phone to his ear, his tone now completely different-gentle:”Rosa, I finally hear your voice.” 

“Christopher? You went to Eloise’s place? Where is she? What did you do to her?” 

Christopher let out a bitter laugh:”All you care about is your friend. Have you ever thought about me? You disappeared all of a sudden-do you have any idea how worried I was?!” 

Rosalind said, “I’m fine.” 

‘Where are you?” 

‘Tell me how Eloise is first. With her personality, she would never let 

you 

make this call.” 

That was also why he had to knock Eloise out as soon as he entered. 

She and Rosalind were very close; it was almost impossible to get Rosalind’s whereabouts out of her. 

Besides, she was a public figure-if she shouted, a crowd would quickly gather. 

So Christopher decisively knocked her out first, then turned to her assistant, Charlotte. 

‘I’m in Eloise’s hotel room right now,” Christopher said.”I want to see you within half an hour. Otherwise, I don’t mind making sure your dear friend Eloise is ruined and disappears from the entertainment industry forever.” 

‘Christopher!” 

‘Rosa, I’ll be waiting for you.” 

After saying this, he hung up. 

She immediately called back, but only got a message that the phone was turned off. 

Furious, Rosalind cursed at the phone:”Bastard!” 

She turned and dashed out the door. 

San Francisco is a big city. With only half an hour, she urged the driver all the way and finally arrived at the Wesley 

Hotel. 

The moment she pressed the doorbell, the door was pulled open from inside.
