Chapter 30. 

She knew her soon–to–be ex–in–laws too well. 

No need to guess. 

“I’m going to San Francisco with Eloise. Her next film is being shot there, and I’m just going for a little vacation,” Rosalind said casually. 

The moment Eloise’s name came up, Christopher grew suspicious. “Really?” 

“If you don’t believe me, ask Eloise’s manager,” Rosalind replied. 

Christopher scoffed, “Right. Wherever she’s needed, she’s moved. Last time, you pretended to be going out with her, but it was just another lie. Honestly, I don’t believe you when it comes to her.” 

“Believe what you want.” 

Rosalind pushed him aside and continued down the stairs with her suitcase. 

Christopher was about to stop her again when his phone rang. 

He glanced at the caller ID, hesitated for a few seconds, then finally answered.“Latoya?” 

“Okay, I got it. I’ll be right there.” 

He hung up the phone and turned to Rosalind. “Something happened with Latoya. I need to go to the hospital. Rosa, are you really just going to San Francisco for a vacation?” 

Rosalind replied coolly, “San Francisco is a big city. Mr. Foret, you can easily check flight info if you want.” 

Christopher finally nodded.“Alright. Be careful on the way, and call me if anything happens,” he said quickly before rushing out the door. 

As Rosalind reached the door, she saw Liza looking at her suitcase, hesitant to say anything. 

Rosalind spoke first. “You don’t need to make any more soup, just start making pregnancy soups from now on.” 

Liza’s eyes widened.“Mrs. Foret, are you pregnant?” 

“I’m not, but ‘Mrs. Foret‘ is someone else soon, and she’s the one pregnant. If you have time, look into pregnancy soups. You’ll need them eventually.” 

In all fairness, Liza had worked diligently over the years, and Christopher had paid her generously–about three times the market rate. 

Liza had a disabled son, and this job was crucial for her. 

Rosalind was just giving her a little advice, a small repayment for all these years of service. 

Eloise’s chauffeur arrived soon after, and her assistant got out of the car to help Rosalind load her suitcase. 

The assistant, a young girl, struggled as they both lifted the heavy bag. 

Half–joking, the assistant said, “Rosalind, are you going to an interview or moving out? This suitcase is heavier than our makeup kits.”

Rosalind chuckled. “You’re not wrong. I’m actually planning to move out.” 

Most of her clothes, shoes, and bags had already been donated.

She didn’t have much left; most of the things she kept were from her childhood home, things her parents had left her before they passed away. 

Later, when her house was torn down, Christopher helped her move everything into their current villa. 

But now, it was time for her to move out. 

Eloise urged, “Hurry up. Get in the car.” 

Rosalind and the assistant got in, and the driver quickly closed the door and sped off. 

Sitting beside Eloise, Rosalind couldn’t help but laugh at her, still fully covered in a hat and sunglasses. “You’re in the car. Do you really need to keep the hat and sunglasses on?” 

Eloise pouted. “You have no idea how annoying those paparazzi are. Last night, I went out for a jog and bought some snacks from a street vendor, and they were snapping photos of me.” 

“Buying snacks shouldn’t be a scandal,” Rosalind said, raising an eyebrow. 

“But I spilled oil on my clothes,” Eloise sighed. “I’m supposed to be this pure, innocent idol, but now my image is 

ruined.” 

Her assistant, Charlotte, couldn’t help but laugh.“Don’t worry, Eloise. Deanne already sent out a press release. Now, fans are saying you’re down–to–earth. They love you even more.” 

“Enough about me,” Eloise said, shoving a paper bag into Rosalind’s hands. “Wear this to your interview on Monday. I bought it especially for you.”
