Nina and Oliver’s engagement party was held at a private estate.
It wasn’t lavish–they only invited their closest family and friends, but everything radiated warmth.
Nina wore a simple wedding dress, her hair loosely pinned up, her face glowing with happiness and peace.
Oliver stood beside her in a perfectly tailored dark suit, his gaze barely leaving her, tender and devoted.
Guests raised their glasses in blessing, the air filled with sweetness.
But nobody noticed the lonely figure hidden behind a tree not far from the estate.
Declan clutched an unsigned wedding card containing a generous check, the envelope nearly destroyed from his white–knuckled grip.
He ultimately couldn’t resist.
He knew he didn’t deserve to be here, didn’t deserve an invitation, didn’t even deserve to offer blessings.
But he came anyway, just wanting to see her from afar one last time.
Through the crowd, he saw that blissfully happy Nina.
She was breathtakingly beautiful, tilting her head slightly to listen to Oliver speak. Oliver reached out naturally to tuck a strand of wind–blown hair behind her ear, the gesture gentle and precious.
That moment was beautiful as a painting, but also like the sharpest blade, precisely piercing Declan’s heart.
The pain almost made it impossible for him to breathe.
Declan’s eyes reddened, warm liquid uncontrollably spilling over and sliding down his cheeks.
[ust then, Nina, chatting with friends, inadvertently glanced in this direction.
Her gaze lingered on him for a brief second.
Declan’s heart nearly jumped out of his chest.
But her look was calm and unmoved..
The next moment, her attention returned to Oliver, as if she’d just glanced at empty air.

Chapter 20
He watched her standing beside another man, so well–matched and happy, as if a person named Declan had
never existed in her life.
They had long since become two parallel lines that would never intersect.
His existence meant nothing to her anymore–not even worth remembering.
She had let go, truly and completely happy.
He took a deep breath, forcing down his sobs, and handed that thick envelope to a staff member, hoarsely saying “just a small gift,” without even leaving his name.
Behind him, the engagement party reached its climax.
Amid everyone’s cheering and blessings, Oliver smiled as he cupped Nina’s face and kissed her deeply.
Nina closed her eyes, smiling as she returned the kiss, her face radiant with happiness.
Cheers, applause, music, ocean waves… wove together into a symphony of bliss.
They stood hand in hand as Oliver held her tight in his embrace.
The shadows of the past had long since cleared, and the future’s landscape awaited them to paint together.
