Harold Roach, Rylan’s assistant, wasted no time and began digging into it. 

In no time, Rylan had a detailed report in hand. Everything Doris said checked out, and that was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to the bad things Catherine had done. 

Rylan’s hands were shaking with fury as he stared at the report. When Donovan, Meredith, and Kenny took the report from him, their faces went pale. They were thunderstruck. 

Besides stealing Gigi’s credits, Catherine even had people pick on Gigi while they were still in 

school. 

No wonder Gigi kept coming home covered in bruises back then. But instead of caring, they reprimanded her for messing around and said she couldn’t hold a candle to Catherine. 

Catherine even went as far as to send a homeless person to assault Gigi. If Gigi hadn’t run fast 

enough, she might have never escaped what they had planned. 

The worst part was the burglary. Catherine had been the one who sent the burglar, all because she wanted Gigi dead. 

Donovan and Meredith never imagined that their sweet, well-behaved daughter could be capable of something so downright evil. 

“Damn it! You’re a monster!” they exclaimed. 

Regret hit Kenny like a punch to the gut. When he looked at Catherine again, his eyes were blazing with rage. “Gigi is your sister, Catherine. How could you do something like this?” 

Realizing there was no turning back, Catherine lost it and burst into manic laughter. “That’s right. It was all me. What are you going to do about it? I wanted Gigi to disappear. Everything 

should be mine. 

“You said I was the only one you would ever love. I was supposed to be the only daughter and the only younger sister this family needed. Why did you bring Gigi into this world? 

Without waiting for a response, she continued rambling, “Fine, she came into this world, but she was just here to give me blood. Why did she have to try so hard to win your love? All it did was make me look like I’m a terrible sister. 

“Don’t forget Rylan. I fell for him first. Why was Gigi the first one he saw when he came back? Why did she have to be dancing in the garden that day, making him fall for her on the spot? 

“Rylan kept asking around, trying to figure out who that lady dancing in the garden was. I wasn’t about to let him fall for someone else. Of course, I had to step in and pretend it was me.

Her laughter echoed in the hospital room, sending chills down everyone’s spines. Rylan and the Harts looked at her with pure loathing, like she was some demon sent straight from hell. 

Rylan fumed. “You’re going to pay for everything you’ve done, Catherine.” 

Catherine dismissively remarked, “What can you even do to me? I’m the Hart family’s heiress. You wouldn’t dare to lay a finger on me.” 

Just then, Donovan stepped forward and announced, “You’re no longer part of the Hart family. We’re cutting you off completely.”

Catherine’s eyes went wide with panic. She never imagined Donovan would that far. “I still have hemophilia-I can’t lose everything, Dad, Mom, Kenny, Rylan! 

“You can’t kick me out of the Hart family; I have the Hart name. How am I supposed to 

survive?” 

She tried to beg for mercy, but the Hart family was done with her. They didn’t even look her 

way. 

Rylan turned on his heels and walked out of the room. He had to find Gigi, tell her everything, and ask for her forgiveness. 

She was the one he truly had feelings for. But after all these years, how had he treated her? 

Maybe she had found out the real reason he got close to her. That was why she walked away without looking back and even returned the Bowen family heirloom to him. 

Rylan had no one to blame but himself. Why had he been so blind? Why didn’t he dig deeper for the truth? 

He had been a heartbeat away from having the woman he loved by his side. No matter what, he 

couldn’t lose Gigi again.
