Chapter 5
He reached out excitedly, trying to grab my hand. I pulled back in disgust, taking two steps away from him
“You’re delusional. This isn’t your kid.“[]
I turned to leave – honestly couldn’t stand looking at his face anymore!]]
The next second, he grabbed my wrist with this guilty, pleading expression:
“I know you’re still pissed at me. Can we just get past this? It’s all my fault- I’m sorry, okay?”
I yanked my hand away, feeling completely disgusted, and looked at Chloe’s sour expression. I decided to stir the pot:]
“Wow, you’re really that much of a pushover now? Your man’s all over me right in front of you, acting like we’ve got unfinished business, and you’re just gonna take it?”
Chloé just forced out this smile that looked more painful than crying:
“I support Damon in whatever he does.”
Damon frantically tried explaining to me:
“Seraphina, you’ve got it all wrong. Chloe and I are just fuck buddies–that’s it.‘
“Now that you’re back, I’ll tone it down. She’s chill about it–won’t cause any drama for you.“]
“After you left for overseas, you quit your job, changed all your contact info I couldn’t find you anywhere. You have no idea what hell, I’ve been through.”
He got all emotional and teary–eyed, giving me those puppy dog looks.
But the shit coming ourof his mouth was absolutely revolting, yet he said it like it was perfectly reasonable.
When he saw the disgust written all over my face, he kept making excuses:
“Seraphina, no matter how many women I’m with, you’re still one of a kind. I finally realized you’re the most important person in my life.”
“I’m just like any other guy – we all make the same mistakes. What I have with her is purely physical. What we have is completely different.“]
The more he talked, the more pathetic he sounded.
I stared at Chloe, who was being reduced to absolutely nothing:]
“He just basically called you a cheap whore, and you’re still this calm? Did he fuck all your self–respect out of you, Chloe?“]
Chloe’s face went dark with anger, but she was too scared to show it. Instead, she put on this martyred expression:
“Seraphina. I promise I’ll be good. I’m totally fine sharing Damon with you. He’s already being so humble – please don’t break his heart.“]
She was clearly pissed but trying to act all generous and understanding.]
I felt sorry for her pathetic ass.]
“You can just be a bitch all you want. I’m not joining that shitshow.“]
