Chapter 176 Someone Thomas Couldn’t Get Over

Ethan stared at the ex-lovers speechlessly.

Thomas demanded, “Did you guys sleep with each other?”

Lena followed suit, asking, “Ethan, where did you sleep last night?”

Ethan grumbled, “Damn it, I’m so unlucky to have met the two of you.”

No one had ever talked to him in such an interrogative tone until now. Yet, he had to hold back his anger because he couldn’t beat up his uncle or Chloe’s best friend.

“Lena, how could you ask that question of the drunk man you sent home last night? Damn it!” Ethan had to stop himself from cussing her out.

Thomas turned around to stare at Lena. “Did you drive drunk?”

“No… We got an Uber,” Lena quickly clarified.

Soon, she quietly chided herself for acting guilty and small in front of Thomas, who seemed like a school teacher at that moment.

“Which room did you leave Ethan in?” Thomas pressed on.

Lena had no answer to that question. She turned to Ethan for help.

Ethan felt an urge to kick her out right then.

Thomas had strode over and stood before Ethan. “Ethan, you’d better answer me. Did you sleep with Lena? Yes or no? Which bedroom were you in?”

He had removed his suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves, to Lena’s surprise. Was he trying to beat up Ethan? But she had watched Ethan fight before. A gentleman like Thomas would only lose if he attempted to spar with Ethan.

She had to stop him.

“No! Thomas, so what if I shared a bed with Ethan? He and I are adults. We didn’t do anything illegal. Why do you have to interrogate us?”

But Thomas’ expression had only stiffened. Lips tightly pursed, he glared at Lena, who was now standing before Ethan.

“So, are you into Ethan now?”

Ethan pushed Lena aside, giving her no chance to speak.

He growled, “Enough. I was on the floor when I woke up this morning. Even if she and I shared a bed, I wouldn’t touch her with a ten-foot pole. I’m not interested in her at all! She doesn’t get to take advantage of me.”

Initially, Lena was glad that Ethan spoke up for her, but her anger quickly rose when she heard what he had to say.

She was indignant. “What do you mean? Taking advantage of you? What do you have to offer? I’m the one who’d be taken advantage of!”

Ethan raised a questioning brow. “Do you really think you’d be the one taken advantage of if we sleep together?”

Shocked, she quickly fired back, “Remember, I’m your uncle’s ex! If we’d slept together, you would’ve been taking advantage of your almost aunt-in-law!”

Ethan choked in surprise at her bold words.

Lena belatedly realized she had misspoken. Bringing up Thomas was akin to adding fuel to the

fire.

“Um, Thomas… I said it without thinking. Don’t take it to heart,” she quickly said.

“What if I took it personally?” Thomas asked, catching her by surprise.

It took her a while to respond. “What do you want me to do, then?”

“What did you bring along when you dropped Ethan off last night?” Thomas asked.

“Just a handbag and my phone,” replied Lena.

“Where are they?”

She picked them up. “They’re here. Why?”

“Let’s go.” Thomas took her hand.

Turning to Ethan, he warned him, “Don’t drink so much that you black out. You’ll regret it if anything bad happens.”

“Got it.” Ethan shrugged, only managing to relax once Thomas and Lena left his place.

He was glad they’d left. Had Thomas taken the situation seriously, he might have destroyed the place out of anger.

Judging from Thomas’ interaction with Lena, Ethan couldn’t help but wonder if he still had feelings for her, like what he suspected.

Things rarely ended well for anyone Thomas couldn’t get over, except family.

“Hey, Thomas, slow down. I haven’t washed up or combed my hair,” grumbled Lena.

She thought Thomas should have given her a chance to freshen up before dragging her away.

But he couldn’t care less. Opening the door to the front passenger seat, he said to her, “Get into the car.”

She refused. “I’ll get myself home. You don’t have to give me a ride.”

“Don’t you think we have a lot to discuss? If you don’t want to talk to me today…” Thomas’

voice trailed off.

Lena knew his personality. If she refused to have that talk with him, he would cause her trouble, thanks to his legal expertise.

So, she obediently got into the car. He drove them out of Ethan’s neighborhood.

“Where are we having the talk?” she asked.

“When we get to your place,” he replied.

But she didn’t want him at her place. “Can’t we talk elsewhere?”

“Where do you think we can go when you haven’t washed up yet?” he countered.

That immediately changed her mind.

Still, she felt rather awkward when Thomas stepped foot into her place.

He suggested, “You should wash up before we talk.”

“Sure. Take a seat.” She grabbed her clothes and entered the bathroom.

Thomas scanned the surroundings and found nothing that indicated the presence of a man. There were no men’s slippers at the entrance either.

So Lena wasn’t living with her boyfriend? Or maybe he rarely visited?

The possibility made him feel relieved. He was surprised that he still occasionally thought of Lena. Many people assumed that he was still pining after her because he hadn’t dated anyone since that breakup.

Pining after Lena? Impossible!

Thomas didn’t think Lena was that charming. He convinced himself that he hadn’t gotten a new girlfriend simply because he thought it was a hassle.

He settled on the couch. When he spotted a photo album on the coffee table, he picked it up and flipped through the pages.

What he saw, however, shocked him.

It was an album filled with photos of various hot men.

Lena happened to exit the bathroom at that moment. Her expression fell when she saw Thomas holding the photo album.
