Chapter 159 Brian, I Want You
“My boyfriend’s a great man,” Lena said. “He’s open–minded and indulges my hobbies. If he weren’t busy today, he’d be here watching the performance with me.
“Alright, I have to go meet my boyfriend now. Goodbye, Mr. Earlhart!”
With that, she turned around and left.
Thomas stared after her, his lips pressed into a thin line.
His greatest strength had always been his composure. No matter how big the setback he faced in court–even if a witness suddenly turned against him–he could stay calm. He wouldn’t be
fazed at all.
But now, he couldn’t fathom why his chest tightened at the mention of Lena’s boyfriend. An indescribable feeling pricked at him, spreading through his whole body.
Meanwhile, Chloe and Brian got into the car.
“How did you happen to be right outside the theater?” she asked. “I thought you wouldn’t arrive until ten…”
She suddenly paused. “Don’t tell me the equipment failure at the show wasn’t an accident?”
After all, Brian hadn’t even asked why when she and Lena had left early. He’d looked as though he already knew.
He gave a soft hum of acknowledgement.
“Was it you?” she asked, flabbergasted when he nodded. “Why did you do that? Was it so I’d leave early?”
“I didn’t want you watching those men for too long or getting too close with them,” he murmured. “Do you think that’s petty?”
He feared that after seeing more handsome men, she might fall for someone else. Even though he knew she wasn’t fickle and that she took relationships seriously, he still couldn’t stop being scared.
The dark thoughts he tried to suppress always crept out whenever he felt insecure, amplifying his insecurity.
Chloe looked at the man before her, noting the flicker of unease on his face. He was tense, waiting for her reaction.

A sigh left her lips as she reached out to touch his cheek.
“I only went with Lena to watch the performance,” she explained. “I’m not interested in those men, so you don’t have to worry. And you’re my boyfriend. You don’t have to be so careful
around me.”
Brian’s lashes trembled. He acted like that because he cared too much about her. It wasn’t until
now that he finally understood what it felt like to tread lightly before his beloved.
“Then you’re only interested in me?” he whispered.
Chloe’s cheeks burned. Milton was driving up front, yet Brian’s gaze was overflowing with earnestness. She wasn’t one to flaunt her relationship in public, but now, she didn’t want him
to be uneasy.
“Yes,” she said. “Only you.”
A smile spread across his lips. He took her hand and kissed her fingertips lightly, saying, ‘ Then from now on, I’m the only one for you. Don’t ever be interested in another man.”
Up front, Milton kept his eyes trained on the road.

Was this conversation really for him? Who would have thought that Brian, who’d always been distant and aloof, could sound like a nervous young man in love?
Back at the apartment, the warmth of Brian’s lips still lingered on Chloe’s fingers.
“By the way, don’t do that again,” she said to him. “If you don’t like me watching that kind of show, just say so. There’s no need to cause such a scene. And I don’t want our issues affecting others.”
She paused. “I also hope you can trust me more and respect the time I spend with my friends. Even if I watch those performances, I’m not actually drawn to the dancers. I just appreciate the art.”
Every couple took some time to adapt to each other. It was the same for them.
Brian’s eyes flickered. “Alright. I won’t do it again.”
Just as Chloe let out a breath of relief, he suddenly added, “But I hope you’ll make me feel more secure too.”
“Secure?” she echoed.
“Like… Jook at me more, make me feel that I’m the only man you’re interested in.” His voice dropped to a low, persuasive murmur. “Make me believe you’ll truly fall for me–and deeply.”

“And how am I supposed to do that?” she asked, puzzled.
“Did you enjoy the show today?” he suddenly asked.
“It was good,” she admitted. “The performances were proper and full of beauty and strength. But if it still makes you uneasy, we can go together next time.”
“Instead of that, I’d rather…” Brian lowered his gaze. “If you want to see men dance, I’ll dance for you myself.”
“What?” Chloe’s eyes widened. “Do you dance?”
“What’s wrong? You think I can’t?” he countered.
She was at a loss for words. She’d never seen him dance and could hardly picture it.
Brian loosened his tie and unbuttoned his jacket, then the shirt beneath. With each piece of clothing he removed, she felt her body tense.
She’d seen men undress before—in the military, and tonight on stage, where foreign dancers
had thrown their shirts at the screaming audience.
But she’d felt nothing then. She’d simply noted that they were well–built.
Now, watching Brian strip in front of her, she couldn’t look away. Her heartbeat picked up.
Bare–chested, he stepped closer and held her gaze. “What kind of dance do you like?”
“You’ve actually learned to dance?” she asked.
“No. But I can learn,” he said. “I pick things up fast. If you want to watch someone dance, I’ll
learn to dance for you.”
His
eyes glimmered, seductive yet full of longing.
Chloe fell into a daze. This man, usually so far above everyone, was willing to do things he’d never done before just for her.
“But I have scars,” he added. “They might not look nice when I dance. If you think they’re ugly, I’ll have them removed. Laser surgery’s super advanced now-‘
If possible, Brian wanted to give her the best version of himself. He was always afraid he wasn’t enough for her.
“Brian.” Chloe cut him off. “Scarred or not, you’re the only nian I’m interested in.”
He blinked in surprise. In the next instant, she slid her arms around his neck and pressed her Jips to his. She hated seeing that careful, almost self–doubting expression on his face.
Had she been too cautious in this relationship? Had she failed to make him feel secure enough

Even now, he was returning her kiss in a careful yet dedicated manner, all too eager to please
her.
Chloe’s nose stung.
“Brian,” she heard herself say. “I want you.”
