Abandoned Me 8

Abandoned Me 8

Chapter 8

He took me abroad immediately after we got married, fearing he would be traumatized by the sights I would see.

When I couldn’t sleep at night and suffered from depression because of my brother’s tragic death.

He didn’t say it, but I knew it.

I had been abroad, he had lost many business opportunities.

But for a moment, I found it difficult to accept such a truth.

I gently withdrew my hand from his.

“Give me some time.”

“Okay, I’ll be home with you for the rest of the time.”

He sighed, as if he had a thousand words to say.

However, seeing my determined expression, he could only bow his head silently.

A bitter smile appeared at the corner of the mouth.

The slight sound of the door closing was particularly abrupt in the quiet night.

But we each had our own thoughts and neither of us noticed.

To show his sincerity in apologizing, my husband went out early to buy groceries and planned to personally cook a table of dishes to celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary.

It was only at daybreak that I discovered my son, Timmy Rousselet, was missing..

Frantic and anxious that I was about to call Ron when I received a call from Nolthen.

He told me on the phone that Timmy was with him.

When I rushed to the playground, Nolthen was helping her change into the pants he had just bought.

When he saw me, a flicker of discomfort crossed his face and he touched his nose as he

explained.

When he saw me, a flicker of awkwardness crossed his face and he scratched his nose to explain.

‘This kid got my number from somewhere and insisted I bring him to the playground.”

‘He’s almost six, right? And he’s still wetting his pants?”

‘This kid got my number from somewhere and insisted I bring him to the playground.”

‘He’s almost six, right? And he’s still wetting his pants?”

He didn’t disdain the boy’s urine, even carefully wiped the tears from his face.

I knelt down, heartbroken and held Timmy in my arms.

He did not disdain Timmy’s urine and carefully wiped away the tears on his face.

I squatted down and held him in my arms, heartbroken.

‘During my pregnancy abroad, I couldn’t get over my brother’s death and suffered from

pm

depression. I often couldn’t sleep at night, which caused Timmy’s kidneys to not develop properly. The doctor said it would be fine when he was older.”

“I’m sorry.”

Nolthen bit his lower lip tightly, his face pale. His eyes revealed deep remorse and guilt.

I held Timmy in silence, lost in the sadness of the past.

He opened his mouth with difficulty, looking at me pleadingly. “If it’s possible, I’d like to ….”

I quickly raised my hand to interrupt him.

“Nolthen, our relationship is over, but some things can never be erased.”

His body stiffened, his expression mournful, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.

A slight tremor of reluctance lingered in his calm voice. “I understand.”

Due to my son’s request, he accompanied him to play in the amusement park for a day.

It wasn’t until evening when he dropped us mother and son to our doorstep that Timmy reluctantly got off him.

“Thank you.”

had been trying to manage my emotions these past few years and Ron had been completely devoted to me.

We had paid very little attention to our son.

Today, he had a great time at the amusement park.

On the way back, Timmy told me the reason why he had sneaked out.

The kid overheard my conversation with his father last night.

He was a precocious child and he was obsessed with finding out who had caused the quarrel between his father and mother.

So, while I was asleep, he found Nolthen’s contact information on my phone.

Calista, is he treating you well?”

When we arrived at my doorstep, Nolthen stared into my eyes, with complex emotions swirling in chem.
