Chapter 4 

I looked at Michael with a hint of sympathy in my eyes. 

I said to Michael, “But this child isn’t yours either.”

Michael completely panicked, staring at me and saying, “That’s impossible!” 

Then his expression turned furious as he yelled at me, “Athena, you really did sleep with other men! Someone was actually willing to have sex with a cripple like you. You must have paid a lot of money, right? If you didn’t pay enough, who would want to sleep with a motionless, unresponsive dead fish like you?” 

I was about to call security to throw Michael out of the hospital, but Charles moved faster than I did. 

Every punch he threw at Michael sounded painful just to hear. 

At first, Michael was still cursing, calling Charles an adulterer 

and me a slut. 

Later, Michael started begging for mercy. 

I didn’t want to make a big scene at the hospital. After all, bad news from the hospital would affect my profits. 

I cleared my throat softly and said to Charles, “That’s enough.”

Like a fierce dog suddenly calmed, Charles immediately stopped his fist that was about to strike again. 

I maneuvered my wheelchair closer to Michael, looking down at him sprawled on the ground, and said coldly, “Michael, you should really think about what you’re lacking compared to Charles when it comes to ‘living off a wealthy woman.’ You should focus on improving your abilities instead of going crazy 

here.” 

After saying that, I didn’t linger and left the hospital accompanied by Alice and Charles. 

After walking out of the hospital entrance, Charles still looked furious. 

I found it somewhat amusing and joked with him, “Why are you so angry? You’re really going all out to perform well during your probation period so you can stay.” 

Charles’s expression froze, and he lowered his head, saying, “I’m sorry. Did I cause trouble for you? Will this have a negative impact on the hospital?” 

Even though I was sitting and he was standing, he looked like a big wolf dog that had done something wrong, his demeanor quite subdued.

I was surprised and asked him, “You know this hospital is mine? Even Michael doesn’t know that.” 

If Michael knew, he would never dare curse at me in the hospital. 

There was a hint of guilt in Charles’s eyes, and his voice became quieter, “I found out through online research.” 

I smiled meaningfully and said, “I see. You did quite thorough preparation before looking for this job.” 

I didn’t expose him. 

I’ve invested in too many companies. To avoid trouble and potential dangers, for some companies that need to remain confidential, I only serve as a behind-the-scenes investor. 

When registering, I didn’t use my name and never even mentioned publicly that I had invested in these companies. 

But Charles actually knew this hospital was mine. His family must have some background. 

However, I didn’t know why, given his good family background, he would still come to work as my Life Assistant. 

But it didn’t matter. Since we had already signed an agreement, he was my employee now. As long as he performed well, I

During the two Christmases Michael was with me, he always talked about how hard he worked and how much he contributed. 

So I had the hospital give him many salary raises. 

Michael wasn’t the most skilled doctor in the hospital, but he had the highest salary. 

It was precisely because of this that he developed the illusion that “his medical skills were particularly amazing.” 

He felt that working at other hospitals was burying his talent, and only opening his own private hospital would match his abilities. 

Because I didn’t tell Michael the hospital was mine, besides his salary, I also gave him many additional rewards, including cars

But I had Alice cancel Sarah’s job. 

Since I had already ended my relationship with Michael, there was no need for me to continue taking care of his family members.
